I like what you've chosen but I know that sun moves around a sunroom and furniture can get bleached out. Bamboo is the best choice for durability. I've attached an article on how to chose sunroom furniture. It might help you.

I think it also depends a bit on where you live and how you will use the room. My sunroom is attached to the living room and is totally visible from it, and so it is more formal and I use "regular" furniture (taking into account the sun bleaching). The room doesn't go to usable areas outdoors so doesn't get traffic. In my previous house, the sunroom was more of a porch and I would use it routinely to enter the house directly to the kitchen. It was much more casual and I had casual furniture (pre-dating all the nice wicker we see these days). It looks like yours might want to be "high casual"? Have you googled for pictures of complete sunrooms to see what some of the possibilities are and this is your favorite?

yayagal, thanks for the link it had some good information that I did not think about. I just checked the manuf. info. on this couch & it says it is good for porches & sunrooms so I think I am ok there. This room does get A LOT of light!

andee, yes it is a high casual area just like your old room. It is how we enter the kitchen everytime we come into the house. So I am looking for something casual.

I really like this couch, but I always have a hard time making purchases. Especially this one because it will be the first item I get for the room & I want to make sure the style goes with the painted brick and other elements in the room. I am never good at these types of decisions so I am looking for either some confirmation on this one, or a better idea for someone who is better at putting these things together than I am. So I am open to suggestions. When I search on google so many of the pics. are about creating the actual room structurally & I am not that fond of the furniture in the ads.

I know what I like, I am just not sure it fits the room. So I guess I am looking for some guidance there.

I love the sofa and your sunroom! What I wouldn't do to have a room where the sunlight just pours in...what a great space to hang out & relax!

I could see a sisal rug in here and some bright pillows if you want to add some punch. Check out the Pottery Barn website...lots of great options to accessorize this kind of space.

Love the sofa and think it is perfect for a sun room. I would suggest that you measure the sofa and your area. They always look so much smaller in the stores.

Very nice, except for the loose back cushions. I had them on a couch and hated that they constantly had to be arranged and fixed. Also, people sitting there often end up messing with them to get comfortable.

I do think it works in your pretty space.

dekr8, Go to Google and click on images, the type in sunroom furniture. You'll get hundreds of jpgs. of sunrooms. Click on the jpg and then open large size. It's fun and inspiring. You have a good start with that sofa. Love it.

Love the couch. I have the same sort of sunroom off my kitchen. I grow plants there and it also opens to our deck. I just purchased a white wicker set off Craigs List. Very casual, but what I could afford.

Wicker is one of my favorites and can be elegantly casual like Janes room will be when she gets cushions she likes! And jane scored well on CL that is a nice set!

I think the key for sunroom furniture for me is natural woven structure, rattan, wicker, or the tightly woven fiber- I forget the name. With comfortable cushions and accessories to dress up or dress down.

Les, you made some good points & I will have to go to the store to see how much these pillows move around. I forgot I was also concerned that it came in 3 separate pieces & I'm afraid they would move as well.

Jane thanks for posting the photo of your lovely sunroom. It is exactly the look that I am going for...a comfortable space with lots of plants, and I like the idea of the plant stand. I have been looking at Ikea & they have a lot of planters that I thought would go well in there. And yes, you did get a great find on Craigslist!

oh & dd50 thanks for reminding me to lay out where the couch will be in the room. It is a much larger room than it looks in the photos but it does have a door in the center on either side & I want to make sure the traffic flow will be ok.

Here is a photo from rms (rate my space) that I liked which led me to this couch. I think this is the lighter honey colored one though.

I notice you have a nice circle window in the door, it would be nice to carry the shape of the circle in to your accessories.

Well, I got the sofa & a seagrass rug. Do you think this chair would go well with it? It is banana leaf while the other is seagrass. I am not sure if they are too close to match yet to similar...so that it might look "off". Also yayagal, I tried to do a search for the metal daybed but all I come up with is the typical iron type. Have any other ideas on what it could be called??? Thanks.

I’m considering buying a sofa much like yours. What type of chairs did you use with it? I know it has been a long time but am wondering if the seagrass was a good choice for your sunroom.
