Good deal on a hand mixer

In my adult life I've always had a stand mixer and never owned a hand mixer but I wanted to make 7-minute or sea foam frosting - can't use the stand mixer to beat something on a burner. Maybe I could have gotten by with a whisk but 7-minutes of whisking sounds like a hassle and for the eventual big batch I will need to make I decided to get a mixer. I was open to getting any old one but I ran across a great price on the 9-speed KitchenAid at Amazon.

It's $33 which makes it less than the their price for the bottom end 3-speed KA. It includes the regular beaters and the whisk (normally included with the 9-speed) plus the dough hooks and liquid blender rod.

I'm not sure how well the last two accessories work - I'd be a bit worried about over-loading the motor and shortening its life with bread dough but maybe a small batch. Anyway, it cost less about half the price of the model without them. KA is currently running a $5 rebate on hand mixers. I'm not sure if they will honor it on this special model but the rebate form just says KHM9 - this and the regular model share that model number, I had to go to the regular model page on Amazon for the link to the rebate form.

Here is a link that might be useful: mixer at Amazon
