Oh, Pookie. I simply cannot imagine the pain you and your family must be feeling right now. I have nothing to offer you except sympathy and an ear and a shoulder. The one thing you want the most is not something anyone can give you and for that I am so sorry.

Only 19 years old, that is so terribly sad, but I hope you'll be able to remember, soon, that she and you had the MOST wonderful 19 years. I know, there's no comfort in that right now. But maybe eventually.... oh, Jamie. My heart just breaks for you and for her and for the whole family.

I'm sorry about your loss also. I felt so badly. I would have removed her if she seemed stressed but she seemed to be doing just fine. I knew I'd end up having babies one day but this is so special because, one it is my first and second because I lost mama. I'm just so full of smiles with my little fishies. On a side note, Summer (my senior dog) must like them too because she tried to take a swim with them tonight. Thank God she is okay but my knees are knocked up from the rocks and my rocks are a mess. Now I'm going to have to give her a good inspection and make sure none of them hurt her. I just noticed a bit ago that a pretty big one fell in the pond and I hope it didn't fall anywhere on her. Not a good night to start my work week on.

I'm looking at the positive side of her death. She's not suffering anymore, and I believe God will give her back someday in a healthy body. I'm going to look into having my tubes untied so I can try again. I want another little girl. I miss her so much. She was my only girl, and she was adored by her two brothers. Now, everytime they do something funny, I tell them they're making her laugh in Heaven. Her website is www.caringbridge.org/va/emily. It has pics and most of her story, but I just don't feel like updating it. I'm thinking of just printing the guestbook and deleting it.

Davidandkasie~ I am SO sorry for your loss... Trust me, I feel your & your kid's pain! I can't believe ppl! I know it would kill me to knock on someone's door & tell them I just hit their pet, but I would do it b/c that's the right thing to do! I can't believe how some ppl are so careless about other ppl's feelings. That was something I was/am thankful for (if it's possible to be thankful in a time like this)... that I didn't have to go search for my dog and that I found him... I can't imagine not being able to find a pet & not knowing what happened to it, having that tiny bit of hope that it would one day return. I was also glad I could be there w/ him when he took his last breath. That had to be difficult telling your kids about it... I'm glad I didn't have to worry about that (no kids yet). I'm so sorry for them, b/c I'm sure the little one doesn't completely understand about death and it's probably really confusing that one minute he's there, then the next he's gone... and the older one, I know how he feels, Coffey had became my constant companion and slept in the bed w/ me every night when my fiance was gone & was there every morning when I woke up and was constantly at my feet following me around, so, I understand, it's hard to lose something that had always been there. I guess that saying is true: "You never really realize what you've got until it's gone." Good luck dealing w/ this! *RIP Hooch* ----------------------------------------------------------- Ninapearl~ Thank you for your condolences, and yes, my Dad is something else! I know that I can't ever replace Coffey, he was definitly one of a kind. Bailey & I do still miss Coffey very much, but I can see improvement in each of us. It will just take time. And, although eventually I will probably want to get another "little brother or sister" for Bailey, I just feel like it's too soon overall. I'm afraid Bailey might not adapt well since it's only been 1 1/2 weeks since Coffey's death and I'm afraid that I might expect too much out of a new dog, so I just feel like now isn't the time. I will know when the time is right. Also, my fiance & I & Bailey will be moving soon and I honestly don't know if I would have the time to train a puppy right now. I have, however, thought about going to a shelter for a puppy. This has made me angry though, looking @ PetFinder.com... We had a special puppy that was WANTED and in a good and loving home and he had to be taken from us, same goes for Davidandkasie, and then, there are all of these dogs out there that are neglected or abused and just plain UNWANTED and just sitting there. It is so unfair how the world works! (Not that I am wishing death on any animal, but it just doesn't seem right how that works out.) Anyway, I'll get off my soap box now. Thank you again for all of your sweet condolences! :)

I am so sorry for your loss....no words can ever explain the pain and heartbreak you are experiencing.
You will find your way in your own time and it does get easier over the years.
Just remember, no matter what people say and no matter how they try to help by saying things that may be hurtful to you, they are doing the best they know how.
I had a woman tell me after our son was tragically killed, she knew exactly how I felt because her kitten died. It was a stupid thing to say but she was reaching out in the only way she knew.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and if you ever need a shoulder to cry on or someone to listen to your crazy thoughts, let me know.

This is any mothers worst fear!!!! It is so unexpected and there is just no way to prevent something like this from touching our lives. I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that you had her long enough to see what a wonderful woman she became. Its heartbreaking and I wish there was something any of us could do to make things better. I can't imagine anything worse that could happen. The KT is open 24/7, and someone will be here to listen anytime.

Words seem so trivial. I truly am so sad for you and your family, Jamie. You have been in my thoughts since I read this early this morning-I just couldn't respond.

There are many wonderful people on this list-serve that have experienced a pain similar to yours. When you are ready, I know they will be able to give you some support, maybe make some sense of your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

That said, Let's move on to your immeidate concern. The healing process takes time; It can not, nor should it, be rushed. Do not be surprised if the grieving period last up to a year or more, before the hurt begins to dull.

The expression, "Put if behind me" has no value here because this event is never 'behind you'; It is always up front and in your face. How could you forget such a gut wrenching event? What you have to do is to take it one step at a time, live one day at a time. Do what you must today and then wait for tomorrow to face tomorow's chores. This is something that can not be 'put behind you' by some magical process, in one giant leap. It is deep in your inner core. Don't force it. Let time work its healing.

Our prayers go with you.

I will pray for peace for you and your family. And I hope your faith leads you to eventually accept that you didn't really lose your baby girl---she just went home to wait for you.

"For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."
