PEACHY SAUSAGES

Brown and drain a package of beef sausages.

Puree a 14 oz can of peaches in a blender.

Mix with: 1 bottle chili sauce
½ cup ketchup
1 small onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp curry powder (½ tsp will do, depending on taste)

Bake uncovered for ½ hour at 350. Stir and bake for 20 minutes more.

I would think that the peaches/chili sauce mixture would also make a good sauce for meatballs.

Cherry Nut Bread

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup marachino cherry juice
1/2 cup chopped nuts
6 or 8 ounces of marachino cherries, drained

Mix together shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with the cherry juice. When mixed, add the chopped cherries and nuts. Bake in a greased bread pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean. This freezes well. I think this could be baked as muffins with a shorter baking time.

Sugared Rhubarb Muffins
1-1/4 cups sugar, divided
1/3 cup canola oil
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup fat free milk (I used 2%)
1 cup chopped fresh or frozen rhubarb
In a large bowl, beat 1 cup sugar, oil and egg until well blended. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually beat into sugar mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in rhubarb.
Fill paper lined muffin cups three-fourths full sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

Bean Dip

1 can refried beans
1 small jar chunky salsa
1 can Campbell's cheddar cheese soup (undiluted)

Stir together and heat in microwave for 30 seconds.
Serve with Tortilla Chips.

That Ice Cream Carmel roll recipe looks just like the one my Grandma gave me years ago. Its good, DH loves them.

Here is another breakfast one

Sunrise Mini Pizzas
7-10 eggs
3 tablespoons milk
S&P
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
10 frozen white dinner rolls, thawed
10 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
2 cups (8oz) shredded cheddar cheese
In a bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, salt and peper.
Melt butter in a skillet add the eggs, cook and stire til done. Roll each dinner roll to about a 5 inch circle. Place on greased baking sheets. SPoon egg mixture evenly over crusts. Sprinkle with bacon and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or til cheese is melted.
Makes 10 individual pizzas

I made this drink a few years back and it was good, but now I think you have to buy the 12 oz can of juice.
Morning Orange Drink
1 can (6oz) frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup cold water
1 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
10 ice cubes
Combine the first five ingredients in a blender, process at high speed. Add ice cubes, a few at a time. Blend til smooth and serve immediately. Makes 4-6 servings

Fig and Goat Cheese Canapes

INGREDIENTS:
1 baguette
1 cup fig jam
12 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
Honey, to drizzle (optional ¡ª very sweet!)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut baguette into 1/2¡å slices, discarding the ends.
2. In a large toaster oven set to low heat, or conventional oven heated to 275 degrees, toast bread for about 5 minutes, just for crispness.
3. While the bread is still warm, spread each slice with about a tablespoon of jam.
4. Drop goat cheese crumbles on top of all the slices, roughly evenly.
5. Drizzle with honey if desired, and serve!

Serves 6-8 as an appetizer

Laurel where do you buy refrigerator biscuits? I only see Crescent Rolls, Flaky rolls and bread sticks but never biscuits.

Don't we have the Grands refirgerated or frozen biscuits from Pillsbury? I'm sure I've seen them. They're certainly advertised.

One thing I haven't found is the refrigerated pie dough that's already rolled out. You just roll it around your rolling pin and into the plate.

Don't use the frozen ones. I use the Pillsbury biscuits in the tube, store brand is fine too. I think the Grands are too big. I've used the biscuits whole and I've also quartered them in the pan, either way works. Don't be afraid to be a little generous with the cinnamon and sugar either. LOL

Connie, I have never seen those biscuits sold in the grocery stores around here. We have Grands cinnamon buns but not biscuits. The only time I can have biscuits is if I make them myself or use Bisquik. I think biscuits are more of a US food item even though I love them. LOL We can't even get biscuits at KFC The closest thing I have ever seen to a biscuit sold in a restaurant or store are the ones they serve at Red Lobster.

We eat scones instead of biscuits. LOL

Even after you were all taking about the frozen biscuits at Walmart I went and looked and our Walmart does not carry them.

I am biscuit deprived. LOL

Anne is right, we don't have biscuits in Canada. The first time I tasted one was when I was on vacation in Washington DC, Joe had buttermilk biscuits with one of his meals.

Wow! They are everywhere here! Unreal! LOL

We can get them in Canada too. I buy them all the time. If your grocery store doesn't have them, ask if they will get them in for you, or try a different store. I live in a small village and our wee store carries them.
