Now my bedroom w/t ?...any pics of one panel pulled to the side?
Comments (22)I agree with Mari's suggestion to go high and wide. Probably my biggest mistake was getting skimpy hardware. I was trying to be minimalist and it was also my first effort at WTs and I whined here for lots of help at the time. I will say I like the sheerness and the light coming through my linen panels. That is a north western exposure and I need the light and lightness. It is also a casual room, so the relative sheerness is appropriate IMO. Your room feels more formal to me, so lined panels would have a richer look......See MorePlease Vote: Should I use 2 panels on each window?
Comments (47)Wow - I could've sworn I posted in this thread earlier today, but it's not here (obviously!). Anyway, thank you so much for the suggestions. Right now, I may be leaning ever-so-slightly to going ahead and purchasing another pair of curtains, using a pair each on these smaller windows, and just stacking them back a bit more than they are on the front windows. (I think the fabric lends itself to that easily.) I won't do anything until after my trip though - am leaving tomorrow with "me Mum" for a couple of weeks in Cornwall and Devon, where I hope to gather up a lot more decorating inspiration! :-)...See MorePlantation shutters -how many panels per window?
Comments (6)We just ordered plantation shutters for our whole house, and we went with 1 panel wide on all of our windows. Our largest windows are 48" wide and 70" tall. We did do the horizontal divider rail, so we can close the bottom ones if we want, and to provide more support to each panel since they are so big. I'm not planning on swinging open the shutters, unless I am cleaning the windows. Ours should be here in the next week or two, so I can share pics then....See MoreNeed Ikea curtain hack ideas - curtain mavens?
Comments (19)Congratulations, Deb, on the birth of your first grandchild, Juniper!! You removed the pictures before I had a chance to reply. She is adorable and wow, look at all that hair!! Being a grandparent is THE BEST!!!!! Good luck with the tape you ordered from Amazon. I hope it's a pretty easy way to achieve the look you're wanting. It does make sense to have drapery panels in your room instead of the fabric roman shades as I suggested earlier. It appears to be a large room and of course, as you mentioned, they will help with sound echoing. Please share pictures of the completed project. BTW, I love your wall color as well as the exposed beams you have in your room. I, as well as many others, I assume, look forward to seeing more pictures of your new home...................when you're ready....See Morevalley57
