Please help! Need to locate water hammer in pipes

We had a bathroom remodel which resulted in a new water hammer sound which occurs when the toilet tank refills and when the faucets are shut on and off quickly. The contractor/plumber are long gone so we are left to find the cause ourselves. We did have another plumber come in who adjusted the water pressure and it improved, but did not go away. We have also installed the arrestors and they did not work. We think it is in the wall behind the shower or in the floor, where a new line was added during the remodel. The plumber thought that it sounded like a pipe that is hitting a piece of drywall or a floor joist. Is there some sort of listening device out there which could help us pin down the location before we start cutting into the walls and exposing the pipes?

Any other suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks so much.
