mounting kitchen sink rough-in plumbing
Comments (3)Interesting. That was about all I could find in any pictures, too - even for copper pipes. Someone should invent a split flange that interlocks around a pipe and can be glued to it. Glue it on and screw it to the blocking....See Moreplumbing under sink-absurd city code??
Comments (8)I have the whole story now...not sure how to explain it but it has a lot to do with how we had to build the structure since we’re in earthquake country. There are many competing factors: a tie down bracket, sheer wall, large/low window and a bolt into the concrete in the way of placing the sewer line centered on the sink window. Because of these structural limitations, and that code does not allow them to drill through the king studs they can’t run the drain line (and vent) close enough to the sink. There is something in the code that says you can’t have a bend in the line until the flood line of 36”...which is too close to the window and then the king studs get in the way anyway. I know nothing about the complexities of plumbing!...See MoreREPLACING WOOD UNDER KITCHEN SINK DUE TO A LEAK WITH PVC
Comments (2)Looks really good and likely easier to clean than wood. I also like that you painted the interior of the doors and the bottom of the sink black. I, too, have a stainless steel sink (which I like) but I failed to realize that the black stuff that is on the bottom of each bowl sheds off if not painted. Ended up spraying clear spray paint on it after it was installed. Also like the idea of the battery powered "closet" light on the right side....See MoreDrain plumbing for under counter steam oven
Comments (10)We got our first CSO in 2005..the Gagg plumbed Version. At that time undercounter installation was a no-no due to the risk of getting burned by rising steam upon opening the door. i would not do it. In addition, if something is going to go wrong with your CSO..it is more than likely related to plumbing. I don’t know where I read that, but I do believe it. i have an unplumbed CSO now and honestly I don’t miss the drain or the plumbed version. Love my CSO....See Moredavidro1
