I will take your advice re: 'cheater vent'-please help

Thanks for looking at this! I am remodeling my small kitchen in an 1890's house. I am not moving or replacing the current sink, which is the only sink in the 12 x 12 foot room, and it sits under a window. There is a dishwasher and a disposal connected here as well. The current vent runs inside cabinetry and then up through a wall that is being removed. The first plumber to bid suggests using an "auto vent." Sounded OK by me until I started googling. Seems to me it would be worth the effort to do a real vent while the room is all ripped up anyway. Can someone with experience in such things tell me if my instinct is right?
