Shade cloth is the standard way to cool a greenhouse in the summer. You should start with that, and then build onto the design with your PCM. PCMs are really neat, and they work 8 times better than water, but water is nearly free. I've always thought that a water-filled slab would make an even better floor if you could change out the warmed-up water with cool water at the flip of a switch. Maybe bury a tank completely underground, plumb that to the greenhouse tank, and just keep swapping the water back and forth. Then in the winter, you could use a simple solar heater to heat water, pump it into the greenhouse floor and that would provide your heat.

Sofas can be larger in a small room. But what I found is the arms are what cause an overscale. This was the first thing I looked at, those arms are going to take up more room than expected, losing close to 6" on each side. The more detail there is will also cause a sofa to appear larger than what is usable sitting space. The idea of two sofas in a room is great. Would love to do this if my room would work. Agree with Julie, she might want to wait for a move. So many layouts could change. Perhaps you could suggest using masking tape to layout the size of sofas. It will at least give an idea as to how much room they take up. Or photoshop as one suggested. Also, I see the EC as a great storage for office or bedroom. Add shelves or a pole for clothes. Know they are big, but like that one. I suspect she is going to make up her own mind and credit to you for not intruding. Wouldn't surprise me if she just went and bought one when you weren't looking. Given the style she is interested in, she must have a vision of what her room and style is. The ornate sofa says something about her interest beyond what she currently has. Or perhaps she has a friend who redid a room and wants the same. She might have fun at Houzz and you may see what it is she likes. Plus make you want to do something you had no plans for. I can get into areas not thought of before looking at all the designs. She's a sweetheart! Young puppies of any size can't "hold it." Going out twice a night is what Harry did for about a year. The biggest goal in house training is to never give them an opportunity to go in the house. And remember, if they have an accident, it's the owners' fault, not the puppy's. It's hard, but it won't take long. I kept Harry's leash clipped to my belt and his collar. I set the timer; every 30 minutes, from morning to bed time, I picked him up, went outside, rushed to the far corner of the yard, set him down, and then wouldn't make eye contact or speak until he had gone potty. Then I praised him, unhooked his leash, and we ran and froliced and played back to the house. Then he was again clipped to the short leash attached to me and we went back inside. He was with me every step of the day. When I took a shower, I'd take him out before, then crate him, take a quick shower, dress, and take him back outside. After two weeks of this I decided to test him. I unhooked the leash but never took my eyes off of him. He wandered to the door and looked at me expectantly. I opened the door, he ran to his corner and did a big boy peepee! After that he didin't have to be hooked to me. He 'got it', that fast. He still spend nights in the crate, and had to go out 1-2 times a night, for several months. As soon as I'd hear him wake up, or whimper, I'd be up, scoop him up in my arms (so there couldn't be a mishap) and rushed him to the door. Too this day, he still potties in the far left corner of the yard. It sure makes the twice daily poo-patrol much easier. Good luck with your little gal. It won't take long to train her. "Constance Vigilance" now will make a quick and sure completion to her house-manners lessons. The night time outings will just have to be endured until her little body grows. Doggie doors are great if you can install one.

Thank you all again. Lots of suggestions. I never knew about beds at Anthropologie and OneKingsLane. I will sit with her this weekend to figure out which ones she likes. I liked a few at Ballard Designs as well. arcy_gw: She is currently in the guest bedroom. It's a plain white bed and solid white/cream bedding. Just a night stand and table lamp (temporary ones) that I moved there recently. Her bed is surrounded by books lying on the ground. Now that I'm thinking more and comparing her to her younger sister, she doesn't care much about what's in the room. My younger one demanded she wants a canopy bed, desk etc and got everything she wanted as soon as we moved in. Many of you suggested bench seating. The room already has the option. The custom bed is not as expensive as I thought it would be. It's coming to around $1200. Ofcourse, the fabric insert would be DIY. The woodworking firm is very reputable. I was leaning towards this option because my daughter liked that bed and I liked the option of being able to change the fabric when she gets bored or if it gets dirty. Again, she may have been influenced because she didn't see many options. I bought this Uttermost art long back and she liked it very much. She has a mature taste and is generally a very practical person. I will bring up the mural idea and see what she says. If she wants it, then it's a go.
