Biscotti butts and a little raw dough!

And for dinner...perhaps some reindeer cookies that the leg broke off and maybe a couple of Christmas trees that got just a little over done!

Too funny Linda! Our lunch was Teresa's wild rice soup, chocolate chip zucchini bread and roasted almonds that Lou sent home with us from our trip out East. A bite of rice crispie treats, before I put them into the pan, with a spoonful of the chocolate/butterscotch chip frosting. Good Heavens!!!

Mine was a couple of deformed Raspberry Rugelach and a handful of the vat of Chex Mix I just made. Maybe I will top it off with a Russian Tea Cake or a Buckeye - at least they have a little protein from the nuts LOLOLOL!

My usual Boarshead Maple Glazed Chicken on Arnolds brand Whole Wheat Sandwich Thin. But I have homemade chicken noodle soup in the crock pot. DH is sick and I thought maybe soup would be good for him. Thinking I will put some French Rolls in the oven and make an apple, strawberry, grapes, and banana fruit salad to go with it.

I had a small salad with ranch dressing. With ranch dressing because last night I made a salad and took out a new bottle of a pretty good honey mustard dressing and after I put it on my salad, I put the bottle back in the cupboard! Second time I've done that stupid move in the past couple of months. It wasn't terribly expensive but what a waste. Also heated up some leftover enchiladas suizas casserole from the freezer. I sort of followed this enchilada suizas recipe but I had already made the chicken (I used legs) and broth earlier. I layered everything instead of rolling the tortillas (rolling corn tortillas is a PITA and I didn't have to soften them in oil or microwave them, etc doing it this way). I used only half a block of Cabot's Monterey Jack cheese, added some salsa instead of canned chilis and instead of using cream, I stirred a bit of lite sour cream into the sauce before layering it. Much lighter than the original version but still very good.

I had a real breakfast this morning so I doubt I will eat lunch. I did just eat a Clementine though. Finally found them on sale at BiLo. We are having chicken and stuffing for dinner with some broccoli and once the dishwasher is done I will start the spice cake I am going to use in my Pumpkin Trifle. We have snow still and DH took the Jeep to work. My truck does not do well on ice so I am home for the day. We are planning our little shopping adventure for stocking stuffers on Monday. I am going to get settled and stitch for the day I think. Trish

I like to cook supper but not lunch.Make a roasted chicken for supper, tear leftovers apart, add grapes, pecans for chicken salad. There are some good flavors of Triscuit crackers, add ham, cheese and a big drop of mustard. Serve with green olives stuffed with garlic. My dh likes pasta salad so will make one a week to use with lunch. He also likes hot dogs (the ones that the company answers to a Higher Authority in their process) so those and pasta salad. While he is a real man, he also likes quiche so I do cook those for lunch every once in awhile. Also, grilled cheese and tomato on rye...in the winter with tomato soup. We have salad almost every day, I try to vary the ingredients. Since he is not a big bread eater I add meat or shrimp to the salad when serving for lunch. If I've made spaghetti for supper, will turn the leftovers into baked spaghetti, adding cheese, for lunch...(use the vegetable spaghetti). For a hearty lunch, fry some ground beef, add garlic. Nuke some refried beans. Put on a plate with guacamole and sour cream and some tortilla chips and salsa. (very little meat, mostly beans, guacamole and salsa). We also like pimiento cheese and will have that on a bed of lettuce with Triscuit and fruit. I try to have fresh fruit every day with lunch. My dh will also eat eggs any time of the day or night so sometimes we have them for lunch. Very thin pork chops and cabbage...cooked in chicken broth. Great lunch leftovers.Since he is on the Med diet and we, as you can see, are In Georgia, I won't tell you about the fried bologna, the peanut butter and potato chip, or the mayo and pickle sandwiches. :))

not sure yet....still working on coffee...

Probably some homemade butterscotch pudding with gingerbread cookies sprinkled in..it made a great "late night" snack last night..

Pudding is egg yolks and whole milk. Just need to top it off with a baby carrot and mandarin orange.

An omelete with sauteed onion, and chopped deli turkey breast, a mis-purchase of which I'm not fond - serves me right for not buying my usual brand. This omelet is one of my childhood comfort foods.

My cookie baking is finished and the misfits are long gone but it was fun while I was putting them out of their misery!

We had a late lunch today because we went out to the turkey farm to pick up a fresh and a smoked turkey breast. When we returned, lunch was chicken rice soup, a small caraway rye roll and crispy Cortland apple slices.

Marie Callendars Chicken Pot Pie, GAWD how I love those things.

I also baked more cookies today and as I was putting the misfits aside for my son he came in and asked if he could eat one, of course I say, and he picked the most perfect cookie in the whole bunch and ATE IT! Aye yi yi!! I said you're supposed to eat the UGLY ones!!

He didnt know..... Another example of the things kids must be taught.

On the way to an Italian market in the next county we stopped at weird Pizza place. I have been sitting on a Restaurant.com coupon for this place so good time to use it.

What was weird was that the menu looked good on line and it was touted as NY Style pizza and pasta, but it was a dump practically in the middle of no where. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and anchovies. I watched the guy hand make the pizza crust, nice job. He delivered it to the table with a tin of anchovies saying that they put anchovies on the side. So, is that how it's done in NY?

LOL, Cathy, I've never heard of anchovies on the side, but I've never been to New York either!

Here it was office potluck. We started with cookingrvc's hashbrown quiche and some sausage and cheese biscuits tht I made, and coffee. From there we went to cookies and fudge. For lunch it was Korean Lettuce Wraps, BBQ'd chicken, homemade chili, sausage filled wontons, au gratin potatoes, pizza, garlic bread, that jello stuff with pretzels, homemade peanut butter cups and more cookies and fudge. Oh, and a Diet Coke. (grin)

I've been to New York....and had pizza with anchovies on the side....and they are brought in a dish...not the tin!
What's for dinner....don't ask....but the Chex mix looks like someone has been at it!
I made 3 kinds of biscotti....and they all were cood...at least those crusty butt ends were!
It's a dirty job getting rid of all those strange pieces....but someone's got to do it!
