amck, not sure how many but she had two cookie sheets full of wings. I guess you could mix it up and use a little of the breading mixture at a time so you could save it for another time.

Something doesn't seem right with those measurments......could be right but 1/3 cup cayenne is one heck of a lot of cayenne.....maybe I'm just a wimp.

Sounds like the kind of recipe that you could adjust the seasoning to suit our own taste. I'd probably adjust the salt and the cayenne a little bit. Guess I'm a wimp too.

I'm certain you could adjust the amounts and use any other spices you like.

I'm going to give this a try to see how it comes out and I'll let you know how they come out.

My friend who made these told me that some people thought the wings were too hot but I ate them and thought they were just a nice spicy, not too much.

I made some today using 1/4 cup cayenne pepper. They were great. Not too spicy - just right.

I only made a few wings though. What I did was put the breading ingredients into a ziplock bag and shook it all up. Then I took a little out with a cup and used only that little bit to bread the wings. Now I have a bunch left that isnt contaminated with raw chicken, that I'll stick in the fridge to use for tomorrow night.

I also cooked them at 400° for about 50 minutes; we like em crispy.

Thanks for reporting back on your making this recipe, Shaun. I love wings done most any way at all and that recipe is certainly easy. I want to try these soon!

This is a great short cut Shaun, thanks for sharing. I'm eager to hear any adjustments. I probably won't get around to making these for awhile with all the leftovers and putting the house back together.

These sound like they can be tasty, however there is no way that should would have added 1/3 cup of cayenne pepper/salt/paprika unless this was a recipe for a very large quantity.

Perhaps you can ask her to give the amounts again.

Heck, your mouth would be burning up with 1/3 cup cayenne! LOL

Thanks Shaun, I will do as you suggested and mix up the seasonings and add the amount appropriate for the number of wings I am making. Scott is having a couple buddies over to watch PSU today in the Rose Bowl, and I am making a couple kinds of wings for them. perfect!

lizzynola I already did ask her to verify the amounts. They were correct - just as she had them written down. I loved them... but she did hear from others that they were too hot.

So, since I was taking these wings to a party last night, I reduced the cayenne. They were good. I didnt hear any complaints that they were too hot. There were some people there who dont eat spicy so they just didnt eat any of the wings.

Perhaps (the seasoning) is enough for about 8-12 pounds of wings.

NOTES: I made them for dinner. They were too mild for our taste with only 1/4 cup cayenne pepper. For us I would increase the cayenne and the salt (yeah, I know).

I used half the recipe for 20 good size wings (with flapper end removed). This was about 4 pounds so the whole recipe should accommodate 8 pounds.

I cooked the 20 wings for 50 minutes on 400 and I had the baking stone Shaun gave me in the oven for consistent heat. Seemed to be good timing.
