I have never been to one, they're always in the middle of July, and I don't like HOT, I sweat a lot, and just don't go. High school was not my favorite time of life, either.

Where I would love to see old friends, I just don't want them to see me! I'm not the same slim, pretty girl I once was! LOL!

I went to the 30th, with my husband and a best buddy from my same high school class. We didn't have that much fun, but it was memorable. One of our friends had changed gender, which was interesting, and it was nice to re-connect with him/her and a few others.

So many who had been socially popular, student government and all, (not us -- we were nerds) seemed like they were still stuck in high school. Like that Bruce Springsteen song, "Glory Days."

Now the 40th is coming up. We three talked about it and none of us really wants to go. We are still friends with the people we really cared about.

My parents went to school with the same kids from kindergarten through high school, and they still enjoy their reunions.

My class has a reunion every 5 years. We always draw a good crowd, and have a good time. The class is spread all over the country now, and we draw 50-75 people for each event. One coming up this fall - our 45th.

I enjoy them.

If I wanted to keep in touch with those people, I would have done it before a reunion. From my experience there is alot of lying, face-rubbing and complete phoniness at high school reunions.

I love going to our class reunions. I'm usually the one getting them together. If I didn't we wouldn't have one, probably. We went to a small school. Only 32 in our class. 1/2 of us started kindergarten together. We don't get the best turn outs, but they are fun getting together. I don't think anyone is the same slim, trim, people they were back then. Maybe that's why they don't show up. But they have to take me as I am. Life's to short.

I love them--I had the most fun class and they still are. There were only about 104 of us and we were really close. I haven't been able to go to the last 3, but hope to go in 2011.

I was not a member of the "cliques", so I have never had a desire to attend one. A good friend did, as she was close enough to go. She re-affirmed that the cliques are still just that.

I have never gone to any of mine, High School wasn't that fun for me. I have friends now who mean much more to me than back then anyways.

There were 312 in my HS graduating class, in 1942. There has been a Reunion every year. In addition to the regular reunion for the 50th, a group of us met later and went on a cruise to the Bahamas.

Of course the number goes down each year. Time has caught up with us. I don't go any more because now I live too far away to drive that distance.

I think we have stayed close in spirit because we graduated into a war and many of our young men went straight into the Military, and some didn't come home. It was a different world then.

I believe these reunions will continue until there is no one to attend.

Nope..never been to one and don't plan on going to any in the future..and it's not because of my size! I'm about the same height/weight I was in 6th grade (about 50 years ago)! lol

High school wasn't that much fun for me but I love the reunions. Starting with the 20 year reunion they are so much fun. Thirty and forty year ones were fun also. My fifty year will be coming up in two years and I am looking forward to it. I was very shy and quiet in high school but by my 20 year reunion I was much more outgoing.

My graduating class has had only 1 reunion, it was our 20th and held on the night Princess Diana died.

I had a okay time at ours, but really have no desire to go to another.

Haven't ever been to one and don't think my high school has had one or if they did I was never notified.

DH had never been to one of his until his 50th and he really enjoyed it and went back for the 55th. Told his friends if he was still around would see them for the 60th. He went to a real small school in western Kansas.

I went to my 10th and had a fun time. The 20th was held Thanksgiving weekend. While they may figure some still come home for the holiday, my family's holiday was more important.

Next year will be 40. Someone is talking of a gettogether with the class before and after ours this year in October. I like that since I had friends in each.

I haven't been home in over 8 years. That was a quick trip for a funeral with no time for visiting. My sister and I did get a tour through the house where we lived. They made changes my mom always wanted to make.

I'm looking forward to this one. I plan to have enough time to really visit some friends while there.

We should have had our 40th last year, but didn't. A few friends and I are usually the ones who get the planning for it started, and frankly, after losing Angie last year, we just haven't been in the mood.

I missed seeing everybody, however. There were 72 of us in the '67 class and we've remained pretty darn close.

I think at this point, nobody cares who's gained weight, gotten bald, etc. We're just happy that some of us are still around and able to be together.

Now Twinkie's town and class? Whole different story. Went one time and we both hated it.

Those of you who haven't attended one of your reunions, I'd advise you to try it at least once. It might be a great experience and then, at least, you'd know for sure.

I attended my 10th, 20th, 25th and 30th and really enjoyed myself. I think that was due to the fact that I was never a joiner and got along with all types in high school.

Best surprise was at the 25th when a stunning lady came up and started chatting me up. I tried to see if she had a name tag without being obvious. She didn't and I was polite but kept wondering "Who the heck are you?" Turns out she was the "ugly duckling" that everyone made fun of back then. I had gone out with her once or twice and we had fun, but nothing serious. Turns out she married a texas oilman (can you spell millionaire?!) who paid for a complete make over. She had great fun turning the table on those who were nasty to her in high school and enjoyed being with those of us who were nice to her. Wound up going up the penthouse suite in the old home town, chauffer driven, had an expensive breakfast and met the hubby. A real down home shucks type of guy.

I still feel all fuzzy when I think about that reunion and how special it turned out.

I was going to go to my 10th year reunion, but it was cancelled due to lack of interest. I was only going to that one because a schoolmate who was a friend wanted me to go with him. The people who were my friends then are still my friends and we stay in touch. The others were people who happened to be going to school at the same time and place as I was. I didn't know them well then and still don't.

I've only been to one, my 10th. I went to HS in a small town, where many of my classmates still live in the "same zip code where their parents live." There were only around 50 in my class. At the time of the 10th, we lived in Florida, but went back to Ohio for that as well as some family events. DH went to the same HS, but he's two years older. So he knew the people there, too. We have never been to one of his reunion, though.

We had a great time at that one. There was an outdoor family picnic and then an adults-only dinner. We had two kids then, many of my classmates had kids the same age. It was tons of fun to see our kids play together. I enjoyed seeing even the people I didn't especially get along with in HS. Everyone grows up, and we seemed for alike as adults than we were as teens, same priorities- our own families. At the adult dinner we really had time to talk and played card games for hours. I had not seen most of those people since the summer we graduated, but we picked up where we left off and had a great time. I did miss seeing a couple people who did not attend, whom I would really have lost touch with, but think about often.

My 20th should be this summer, if someone is planning it. I really hope they are, I'll go.

No never. My social life was outside of high school. The few friends I had my own age went to different schools. I got along with kids in high school, just wasn't into the same things after school.

The only school activity I ever attended were a few school dances at an all boys school.

I went to my 30th and it was fun I went alone and it was nice trying to figure out who was who since I had left the area so many years before. I still keep in touch with one dear friend from before first grade. We hear hardly anything from anyone anymore.

We went to one, the 10th. We both graduated in 1965, were in some of the same classes. I wouldn't go to another one, it wasn't that much fun. I guess we were mostly loners, just hung around together, married in 1970, going on 38th anniversary. Don't miss high school either, kept in touch with a few people though.

I went to my 5th and 10th. We moved to a different state after that and didn't have the desire to fly back for a reunion. I wasn't extremely social in high school, so I doubt anyone would know who I was anyways!

The High School in our village had two rooms, about 60 students in Grades 9 through 12 (we went to the city for Grade 13).

I moved over 1,500 miles away when I was in Grade 12 in 1946. The school closed in 1949.

They'd held a couple of reunions several years ago after my return to this area, I'd attended and had a fairly enjoyable time.

It was different than many large reunions, if not a certain-year-class-based, which are usually composed mainly of students from more recent years, so the older years' class groups are sort of small frogs in a big pool. In our case, there'd been no attenders since just prior to 1950, so our time and group was the centre of attention.

In 1999 they held the final reunion, the 50th anniversary of the closing of the school. There were over 100 attendees, probably about half of them who still lived fairly local. One of the members whose company had done well subsidised part of the cost of everyone's ticket. He broke his back while on safari in Africa a few years ago and has been in a wheelchair since.

I had been something of a nerd in those days (still have honourary membership in that crowd?). I enjoyed seeing a number of the old friends, and we didn't have a large enough school to be heavily into cliques. Having been more or less rural folks, not used to putting on airs, I didn't notice much of that during the reunion, either, though some had become rather wealthy, or in somewhat higher levels of society in the years between, I think.

I enjoyed the dinner and the evening, renewing old friendships.

I have been to everyone of our high school reunions, graduated in '74. I love seeing all my old friends and school mates. We have a great time, drinks, dinner, and then dancing. High school was lots of fun for me and I enjoyed it. NancyLouise

We've never had one and it's been almost 21 years. I wouldn't go anyhow. High school wasn't bad for me but it wasn't anything special either. I had one best friend from high school and we parted ways about 7 years ago. We hung out with older people from work when we were in high school.

I never see anyone from high school when I visit my parents. It really seems as if many people left the area. Of course, after 21 years, I wonder if I would even recognize anyone.

I went to my tenth,everybody looked the same. But when I went to my twentieth,I was surprised how many were grandparents. My own two kids were just toddlers at that point. I haven't been to any since. I keep in touch with only one person from my graduating class. I consider her my best friend.

I went to my 5th and 10th reunions. Both made me feel pretty sad, Like someone mentioned the song Glory Days, many classmates were in the same place that they had been when we graduated. Funny I was pregnant at the 10th and am pregnant again for our 15th I was looking foreward to getting together but so many are so spread apart. And I honestly am back at my home town often, the kids love their grandma and Papo but funny thing is never run into anyone. I did recently write a note to a friend whose wife at 33 was diagnosed with a fast spreading breast cancer. They have 5 little ones under 9.

Love them! We (Class of '62) hold one every 5 years in Wyalusing,PA-in fact I head them up and each time we choose a different theme for the reunion. We had 120 in our class and we get about 50% that attend. In fact-I've emceed the party since the 1st one held.
The BESTEST one tho-was our 40th in 2002. All of my school years-I was probably the heaviest gal in the class. Never let it deter me from being 'me'..was voted 'Best Dancer' and "Best All Around Personality". Anyhoo..I had the Gastric Bypass surgery 2 years before the reunion in 2002. Donned a sexy black dress the night of-and other than my committee-NOBODY knew me!! It was like Halloween when you unmask so they can see who you are. Most everyone thought I was one of our male classmate's..new SO..TEE HEE

Never been to one either. Not interested in seeing those peeps. There are a couple of classmates that I see from time to time that keep me informed about the others, but really don't have the desire to go and see all the 'I'm better than you are' folks.

I have been to my 5th, 10th and 25th. The first one wasn't much fun but I really enjoyed the 25th. People were surprised when they found out who I was since I had been one of the ones that never talked in school, the ugly duckling and very shy. Well I am not that person anymore thankfully. I am planning on going back for my my 45th next year and living it up.

I went to 3 different high schools. I've attended 2 reunions from one of the schools and 3 for the school from which I graduated. Also went to 3 of Ken's. The first one was my 20th and I attended alone; got award for having changed the most...which was a good thing. *L* We've had fun at the events, and each time some of our running-around friends were there.

I have no interest in going and never have, but I think that it's wonderful that people do go and enjoy seeing old friends, getting caught up on what others are doing.

Never have gone to any since I am in CA and they are in IL. And I already stay in touch with those who mean something to me. I hear it is like others have said, people stuck in their past and reliving their best years. My best years were after HS.

I agree that the same ole cliques are still there. The rudeness to us castouts was still prevalent.

I keep in touch with my 5 closest friends and we enjoy getting together about every 5 years. Three of us live near each other. Two are out of state.

We started having them at 10 years and have had one every five years since...I worked on the 10 and have done web related stuff for the others...I've gone to everyone and have had a blast...I try to connect to everyone and it seems others do to...the girls are more outgoing then the guys, they tend to stick with the same friends they knew in high school...but I'm not really there to see them anyway...I love seeing the girls...we had a class of 501...at our 30th in 2003...88 showed up...it drops every years but it still fun to go...We try to plan it around other events goin on in the town...They have a big Dancin in the Streets downtown, on the same night we have our reunion...lots of food vendors and the old cars come out..bands...it's a great time and I get a chance not only to see classmates but other people at the Dancin in the street event!

I see no reason to go. I didn't know my classmates that well and have not kept in touch with any of them.

I've not been for the last couple -- but one year we had a 'school-wide' reunion... Now that was cool -- I've two older sisters & we all came home. So did lots of others like us. It was fun to see all of the people who came for that one... It was nice because my DH is younger than me - so's my one sister's DH... So we got to see the 'kids' we ran around with that were older & younger than our graduating class... But the people who put it together sure did a lot of work! But the 'internet' helped. They ended up setting up a web site for information, etc.
The school corporation had open houses at all the buildings so you could go visit and the high school was the actual location for the 'official' reunion, with classrooms assigned for different years or eras...

I could be wrong but I think this came up a few years back. But there area lot of new members so I'll reiterate my thoughts from the last time.

You would have to put a gun to the head of my wife & kids to get me to go to my high school reunion. For a few years after I got out (and it'll be 40 in June) from time to time I'd see an old classmate wearing "bracelets" as he was led into city hall trying to hide his face from the TV cameras. Petty theft, burglary, stealing cars, that sort of thing. I feared for my kids when they went, but I shouldn't have. For the most part they were a lot nicer than the kids I knew in school. On the other hand, my army reunion in San Antonio TX in '02 was one of the best experinces of my life. If there's ever another one, I'm there.

I've been to two of mine and I doubt very much if I will ever go again! The last one that I went to was just horrifying,
a fellow male classsmate known since elementary school who knew that I was recently divorced; he tried to pick me
up even thou he was married. At the time I was with DH but not married and there was no way that I would
ever have anything to do with a married man. If I calculate correctly we may have our 35th next year and I already
know that I am not going. I have heard some wonderful stories of people going to their reunions but not me.

I went to the 25th of the high school I would have graduated from if we hadn't moved to FL before I was a senior. It was a blast, I had so much fun and it was great to see how the young kids I knew growing up turned out into lovely adults. I got to see my old neighbor, Ted, who was just a rotten kid and a troublemaker, now he's married and responsible and a family man, that was special. Woody went with me but left after the dinner, we had a long drive ahead of us the next day. I was having too much fun to leave, some of the "kids" looked exactly the same and others were unrecognizable. All of them were nice, though. It was a fun evening, 2 actually, we had an informal meeting at a pub type place the first night and the country club the 2nd night. The only sad part was watching the same 2 women get totally plastered each night. I felt really bad about that, what a waste for 43 year old women. It was embarrassing to watch. I'm glad I went though, it really was helpful for me to stop imagining everyone as 16 year olds and see them all grown up.

I still live in the same small town I went to school at and I've been to a couple but left early both times. Now my DH has the best class reunions. We've been to all of his.
