I have read reports of the mirror glass blackening around the edges of med cabs, too. The solution is to only use water and a microfiber cloth when cleaning them. Never use glass cleaner, most of all! I found a space where a med cab used to be in our half bath, behind the wall mirror. It turns out that there is a wall safe made to fit there, too. I got one and my carpenter made a frame around the back side of the mirror, onto which he put a piano hinge. Since it is near the corner of the room, you cannot see behind to see the hinge and the mirror is only about a half inch off the wall, so it is not too noticeable. My friend with the drug habit has not found it, as far as I know, and the safe is working to hold interesting medications and our cash.

I have Kitchencraft in my kitchen, and we're quite pleased with them. They have great components (hinges, slides) and a decent finish. They are frameless cabinets, so there's a lot of acessible storage, even in the narrow cabinets. We got a few custom designed cabinets from them (including our microwave cabinet) and are pleased at how they turned out. We liked the finish on Brookhaven better, but that quote was ~$8000 more than our Kitchencraft quote. The finish wasn't THAT much nicer, LOL. Here is a link that might be useful:

"butt joints with fasteners" is likely to be the same as "pocket hole" construction- the most common in semi custom, and local custom makers. To get doweled or mortise and tenon face frames you typically need an upper mid to hi end maker- there are fewer of them. Just because they call it custom does not mean anything about construction nor is it the same as the manufactured brands that are custom. Even with those it's always worth checking, some of what gets called custom is barely that IMO. Dado is unusual for frameless- I'm used to seeing doweled. Melamine is not unusual in frameless. It cups less than ply so in many ways is better.

CNC router is just a machine (http://www.thermwood.com) that cuts out the plywood parts that make up an upholstered frame. Their are many types of plywood and ways to join the frame parts together. Thats what matters, not that its cut on a CNC router. Relative speaking at comparable thickness of a solid wood kiln dried poplar is stronger than a solid core poplar plywood when it comes to making upholstery frames. Because the type of joinery is one of the most critical part of a frame, as double dowelled used in most solid wood frames is a much stronger joint than the slot & tenon joints used in CNC plywood frames. Also the type of plywood, some use 3/4" pine 5 ply thats cheap and weak to some use 1 1/4" 20 ply birch thats expensive but very strong. Plywood is heavier than solid wood, so the myth that the heavier the frame the stronger it is, is completely false nowadays.
