Information on wellborn, kitchencraft and quality cabinets needed

Please give me any and all info you may have on the above mentioned cabinets as these are ones the builders I am looking at are suggesting - If you know ANYTHING about them I would appreciate feedback. Also, if you love your cabinets and they are not any of these - please feel free to vote for the ones you do have! I thank you in advance.

I have Kitchencraft in my kitchen, and we're quite pleased with them. They have great components (hinges, slides) and a decent finish. They are frameless cabinets, so there's a lot of acessible storage, even in the narrow cabinets. We got a few custom designed cabinets from them (including our microwave cabinet) and are pleased at how they turned out.

We liked the finish on Brookhaven better, but that quote was ~$8000 more than our Kitchencraft quote. The finish wasn't THAT much nicer, LOL.

Are you referring to Qaulity Cabinets, the Masco company, or Quality Custom Cabinetry? I would not recommend the former. Their shipping is awful. They just wrap everything in cardboard with no bubble or plastic wrap. I had to reorder my DH's sink base three times. The drawers don't glide smoothly either. Once installed, they look nice. Probably equivalent to Kraftmaid in looks, but not worth the hassle.

I have Wellborn cabinets. I purchased an entire kitchen of cabiniets still in the boxes when a builder went under. It was a great deal. In addition to those cabinets, I needed more to finish my kitchen. The few cabinets I needed were very expensive from Wellborn. I opted to have custom cabinets made to match the Wellborn cabinets. It was less expensive to have custom made than order from Wellborn. While the Wellborn cabinets are nice, the custom cabinets are much nicer. Bottom line if I hadn't gotten such a great deal on the orginal Wellborn cabinets purchase, it would have been less expensive to go custom.

Wellborn vs. Wellborn Forest Cabinets

did you reach out to the contractor that did the work? They are the ones that should follow up and get replacement parts for you. I have been selling Wellborn Forest Cabinets for 30 years and they have had their ups and downs, but they have always taken care of any issues any of my customers have ever had. I have Wellborn Forest Cabinets in my house for almost 10 years now and they look as good today as they looked wnen they were installed. All the drawers are as smooth as silk, the doors have never needed to be adjusted after initial adjustment, which should be done as part of the installation. I read alot of complaints that are unfounded about this cabinet company and it isn't fair to them. I sell thousands of Wellborn Forest cabinets and the isuues are few and far between, and most of the time they are shipping or installation issues and are replaced no questions asked when I submit claims. Wellborn Forest is a top notch A+ better business bureau company and doesn't deserve the bashing that a few unsatisfied people are posting. Most of those are not going through the proper channels to get satisfaction.

Not sure I should step back into these waters but after a lot of time, decision making, holdups with other parts of my house-my Ikea cabinets are currently being installed. They should measure for the (non Ikea) countertops later this week so we are close. The delay did allow me to take advantage of the Spring sale and save about $1000. Because I'm far from a store and had problems using the design software. I used a local service to design and deliver which has been horrible. Rude, missing pieces, wrong things ordered. But my contractor and I are slowly figuring out. We've removed EVERYTHING from the backsplash which will be slab marble-all of the lighting will be under cabinet and the outlets, plug mold. We also ended up removing the window as it was small and would have needed to be rebuilt because of leaks. The only decision I have left concerns a peninsula overhang which I'm leaning away from. Hopefully I will be able to post a picture of the completed soon.

We used Wellborn Forest and I think they are a decent quality. We have solid maple doors and drawer fronts, and plywood boxes. Did not get the full extension or self closing sliders. I really like the finish, and the wood is nice and thick; very substantial looking overall:

I have KitchenCraft and the quality has been good. Had only one minor door flaw (cherry cabinets small hole from a knothole) they replaced the door. Hardware is good quality, mine are all blum full extension and quiet closing. So far I really don't have any complaints with them.
