This warning can happen when a cord or plug end connection is starting to fail. For example, the contacts can be dirty or misaligned, or one of the many internal wires is starting to develop a crack or have a bad connection. You’re getting multiple messages because the connection is fluctuating and each time this happens the computer recognizes it as a problem. If you want to diagnose where the problem lies, turn the notifications back on. Then, the next time you get a flood of them, you should be able to discover which one is the culprit by unplugging the devices and plugging them back in one at a time. It may also be possible for you to figure this out by looking at your Device Manager, and seeing if any of them have yellow warning flags.

Surely I'm not the only one????? That feels a bit like persecution, lol. It happened AGAIN today. I had an alert for two new messages. I went through both the old and new inboxes, and the TWO OLDEST messages were showing as new. These weren't even messages I had received, but two that I had SENT...in 2016! This seems to be a glitch in the new mailbox, since it's there they keep reappearing as new. I'm not even going to bother with reporting the issue at this point, as it's basically an exercise in futility. Sooooooooo...if anyone sends me a message and you don't get an answer right away, it's because I'm ignoring the alerts! Apologies in advance. John

YES! At the moment I *supposedly* have 162 unread messages. They've been showing up 2, 3, 4 or so at a time for a few days and when I look they are all very old messages that I've already read - but 162? And on top of that 5 thread notifications. Wish they'd get their sh*t together - I'm kinda busy here!

Yes. Same. It's frustrating. I even thought to post about it here as I keep getting a notice box on the screen forcing me to make a choice, rather in my face about an unread message (that is read). This notice also overrides checking the post notifications and will slip the screen back to the durn unread messages that have been read. As for notifications on posts...that is a toss up as to whether I will actually get a notification or not. Sometimes not, other times not until it's really old news and no one is thinking about it anymore. Including me. The bonkers way things happen here is why I don't install the app on my phone. I only check in here on my laptop. I wouldn't want my phone freaking out over H*uzz.
