I wish I knew and have been trying to find out the same thing. Once there is enough lint the Velcro is ruined and doesn't work anymore making the shoes useless.

I've tried using a stiff toothbrush and a pet brush. Nada.

Tweezers? Sounds like fun (not).

I tried that too. It gets the "strings" of stuff but not the tiny, tiny, fuzzy stuff that is the real problem.

Believe me, and you guys know me and Google, I've tried everything suggested. I did find what might be a solution to prevent the problem but that won't help me fix what is ruined already.

TIP: spray the Velcro with anti-static spray when the item is knew and reapply after washing. Haven't tried it yet but and going to try it on two knew carpel tunnel braces I bought yesterday. The old ones are ruined due to the clogged Velcro. I'll post an update if the Static Guard works.

Here is a time consuming Velcro cleaning project that I find impossible to achieve the ame easy breezy result that they did.

I think the problem I have is that my carpal tunnel braces and my swim shoes, both which have Velcro, get wet in the pool and the Fuzzy stuff shrinks down and gets matted like it has been glued. I just bought two pair of new swim shoes, one without Velcro, so that is one problem solved. But I don't know what to do about the braces. I have shopped and can't find them without Velcro anymore.

I just use a thin metal skewer and run it between the fibers and then pull up the lint. It's not quick but it works.

Make friends with a guy who has one of those high-pressure spray outfits that they use to wash trucks, that farmers use, etc.

I've never pulled apart the velcro on the elastic girdle that I've been using to hold up my briefs.

So ... it looks as though I could have just sewn the ends together, didn't need the velcro, right?

Ole Joyfoul......please tell us that you are not suspending that old underwear of yours with velcro...
For 10 bucks, you can get a package of new...a healthy way to go.
You can collect enough cans or pop bottles to allow yourself that one luxury can't you?

We use the dog's wire slicker brush, it works perfectly. If I don't have it on hand, I run a sewing machine needle thru the hook part of the velcro and it lifts all the dog hair out. One of our dogs has to wear a "bikini" with a Poise pad in it, and whenever I wash them the velcro picks up everything out at the end where it's not covered by the loop part of the tape (my design flaw!). So we've gotten pretty expert at hair removal.

I use a sewing needle to hook out the lint. Works well, doesn't take too much time.

Just press a strip of duct tape or packing tape down on it firmly and rip it off. The lint should stick to the tape.

I'll try the dog wire brush and tape. I have both on hand.
