A lousy photo but didn't want to get too close and scare them.

Comments (9)Well, maybe it will eventually get some leaves on it. Now that it's out of my face, it doesn't really bother me. And like yours, Ines, mine had only the little air roots all over it and the (formerly inactive) peduncles. I do cut the long leafless stems off my pubicalyx, after they are mature enough that it's obvious they didn't produce any peduncles. It's already so huge and in-the-way, I can't afford to let it take any more unnecessary space! Jo, I was disgusted with my reverse kerrii this spring because you could hardly see any variegation at ALL in the new leaves, so I whacked it back and took two short cuttings and put them in a "public" pot outside by my GH, figuring if they burnt to a crisp or died, at least I was making an effort to make it go in another direction. The two cuttings rooted quickly and I did lose one leaf on each, but then both are now putting out new growth with obvious variegation. AND the main plant put on a new growth point back towards the soil line that had more obvious variegation. I'll be very excited to bring in the two new cuttings and put them in with the old plant and see how they all look after a winter in the GH. Comments (28)I would be excited too upon receiving that wonderful swap package! The berry bowls from our local potteries look a bit different, but the purpose is the same. Here in NC ours look more like colanders with cut-outs instead of holes and there is a shallow saucer that the bowl sits in to contain the water. That cookbook looks verrrrr-y interesting! Good job, Katie!...See Moreokay, I'm 3 months post-remodel...
Comments (6)Rest assured you are not alone in trying to preserve the "like new" look it took so much effort to achieve. But remind yourself that you live in a home, not a museum. It seems my two dogs had too much energy to burn after being cooped up during the ice/snow storm last weekend. They took to a wild game of chase in the living room that left noticeable scratch marks on my new Carlisle wide plank floors. And...while putting away dishes I dropped a lead crystal tumbler on my new soapstone countertop -- big ding. Now my floor has officially begun developing patina. DH rubbed out the counter ding with sandpaper. But I feel so much more relaxed now that real life has begun and we have survived to tell about it. Enjoy your kitchen!...See Morejuanital
