Looking for advise.... end stage CRF

Hi everyone,

My cat, Jazz, is 17, has been CRF for 8 years.(is also hyper-t) He had been doing really good for quite some time. Pretty stable numbers, etc.

I brought him in yesterday, and his values are all vey high. My vet told me that this is unfortunately, probably going to be it.

I brought him in because he has terrible teeth, but now, of course, they won't even think of doing a dental on him.

Some of the numbers are

BUN 175

Creatinine 6.7

Phos. 12.0

He is also anemic with a PCV of 24.

She gave me the option of bringing him in for IV therapy. But they aren't staffed over night, and I don't want to leave him there unattended. She also gave me an antibiotic for his teeth.

I just don't know what to do, maybe I am just hoping against hope. He has been thru a lot, I just don't want to give up on him if there's something we could still try.

If anyone had any thoughts, or advise, I would greatly appreciate it.

Rita
