A Little Progress in the Kitchen, Wallpaper Question

I decided on green cabinets, but then when I brought the sample door in, I just didn't like it. I tried a couple different shades but it's something about the lighting in there (window light). Anyway, the red, which most people voted against, looked amazing, so I went with that.

They are finished, except for a little touch up spot here and there and of course the insides which I'll deal with next week.

Now I'm starting to strip the wallpaper and OM goodness I'm dying over here. I've stripped a lot of wallpaper in my day, not by choice but because every place I move has hideous wallpaper everywhere. Anyway, this stuff is heavy and was put on, over other wallpaper, with some kind of industrial never-come-off adhesive. It won't budge!

I'm not sure what to do. Obviously I'm not leaving it, it's ugly and since I used it to protect the walls from the paint, now it's blotchy red.

I'm wondering if there's a faux treatment to cover it? It's not my first choice but I don't know what to do.

Maybe the tissue paper technique?

Help!!
