Lynne...looks like there will be 'Two' of you who will be thankful on Thanksgiving >> You for finding Mr Turkey, and Mr Turkey... for having a Home for Thanksgiving!! He is cute and has great color to him. With that spoon slot, he might be a 'gravy boat'. Any way you use him, he will look right at home on your table. The leaf dish is very pretty too and the colors match your turkey. I see you put a votive in the gold goblet which is a great idea and looks nice too. I think it will give a nice 'glow' when it's lighted. Your centerpiece came out lovely and looks like it was waiting for the 'accessories' you just brought home. They all work so well together, and will look just perfect on your table. Glad you got your turkey... Happy Thanksgiving! jane

"Perhaps you could have done a close up shot?" I will try to repost the one I already had shared with my family which is 800X600 and embed it. That's what it appears you did. I have my own domain, it was already out there, but being new, I thought you could only upload photos. So I had to scrunch it down which I hate to do to an alread-processed photo but didn't want to reconvert from RAW. Haven't worked out a good workflow yet. I'm not real conversant in all the various lenses yet, but I don't have anything longer than 135. I got lucky with that bird. My garden and home repairs have quashed my dreams for a 100-400 or the Sigma 50-500 this year. One has to make choices and prioritize. I got down on the ground and was practically in that bird's face. If I go too close with the 28-135, it won't lock focus, I wanted to fill the frame, still didn't want to spook the bird into flying away if it was able to. Then would the bird have waited for me to swap lenses if I had a longer one? 70-300 is not a good lens (for me now) to leave on the camera for general purpose but great to have that reach when you have time to change lenses.

Whew! Okay, one less boob light in the world, like sailorgirl said! lol Fidoprincess, we do have one of the newer squarish boxes. The ground wire is a mystery, though, as it only came out of the old light fixture itself and was not inside the ceiling box-- I'm looking into making sure we're okay with the way we have the light "grounded" to the ground screw, so I'll be posting this on the Lighting forum too! The old light had a ground wire that ran from the ground screw to a metal part of the old light. I thought the ground wire was supposed to come out of the ceiling box. Anyone know? Meanwhile, we're keeping it off until I find out if we did the ground wire correctly. The new semi flush light sure looks pretty and gives off plenty of light!

1) bake 2) buy the turkeys (we're doing two small ones) and a few other things 3) pack up all of my lotion/soap/etc making supplies from the small multi-purpose room that is off of our dining room (we call it the cozy room because it's so small) so that it can be used to set up an extra (small) dining table to seat a few extra people. I did schedule a vacation day on Wednesday next week, so I can have a little prep time. I always find it really difficult to prepare for a holiday that doesn't have a free day ahead of time (meaning a non-Sunday or Monday holiday).
