mccaba, I gotta throw a wrench into your thinking; that two-gallon fishtank is about a gallon a half TOO BIG. Your sections will grow much better given less room. The little bit of soil in a 2" or 4" pot is quite sufficient. There is a big problem in removing a plant from a small pot....thinking it could do that much better if given a big pot....that is a sure-fire way to kill a plant. You can buy a 4" plastic pot for about 49¢ ...or less. This is quite sufficient to get at least 2 or 3 sections into it. It should be kept moist and it must drain properly. Give it good sun. A rooting hormone is not really necessary but if you choose to use ....say a powder, be sure to blow off all the extra. If you choose too, you can place more than one series of sections in the same pot....make a plant of it. I have quetioned the mixing of colors together in the same pot and have come to the conclusion that one becomes dominant and takes over the color of the others. I have no proof that this is the case. If you think this might be true, you might choose instead to use one pot for each section pieces. Got a dollar store near you---you know, a store that sells everything for a buck or two. They have undoubtedly much stock of small clay pots....(2" & 4") These are ideal for beginning plants. Just be aware that clay pots absorb water into themselves...they should be soaked overnight before being used. Clay pots are ideal for beginner gardeners because they often will prevent overwatering.

George Company and were made sometime between 1904 and 1954.You need to look for your New Mexican Indian doll, although I'll bet it's too southwestern to work with Thanksgiving decs. I bought them in 1993, I guess, and have never seen anothr piece of this pattern since. I do remember that the store (now closed) also had the matching cannisters. Elizabeth...I agree about the real original Tide, not much could ever beat that scent, but you will find here many refer to the Tide scent change in the 70's as the original Tide scent. Probably because they are too young to recall the Real original Tide LOL. I have to say...powders can and will decompose over time if they were stored in wet or humid conditions..they can also lose their scent if they are stored in warehouses with no temp control...that being said if you find a box of powder that is free flowing its most likely fine. Store it away from water sources, humidity, and bright light and it should be fine for many many years......P&G is not going to get into all of this other than what the experation date is for various reasons. Like Mich I also have found discontinued detergents/scents more often in pharmacys that are in great new condition. Probably because a pharmacy isn't selling a lot of it so it sits on a shelf in a nice climate controlled store. But let that nice box you find sit in your laundry room on a shelf and not use it, than boom its going to be clumps in a short period of time from the humid room. It all depends on the condition of the powder detergent when you get it and how you store it as to whether its going to still be stable in 10 years.

jewelis- I wasn't referring to her response but to the letter writer who said by the time dinner is served (when they've been there for 2-3 hours) they are all ready to go home. Marilyn, I'm going to chalk it up to different people behave differently. It was my grandmother who instilled in me the belief that it was rude to "eat and run" so to speak. It's worked out okay for me since my husband's 101 year old grandma never wanted us to leave right away either. She always wanted to see her great grand babies. Come to think of it, she may not have cared if WE were there, just the babies. ;)
