85 years old. TV's Davy Crockett. I didn't know he owned a winery.

Italy - I've been away from the forum for a number of years now but am still actively growing. Al - It's been a rough 5 years or so. Back in 2018 I started my own business selling high quality Adeniums (cultivated by me from seed) to local nurseries. When Covid hit. All the nurseries shut down and business came to an abrupt halt, I had 118 Adeniums ready to go but no one to buy them. I eventually sold some to family and friends, but gave most away (keeping my favorites). More recently, my mom died in May this year of an aggressive form of cancer (no one saw it coming). It's left me wanting to get out of Colorado; and move to someplace where Bougainvillea's grow naturally outdoors. Rob

We are surrounded by bacteria and virus, our skin, digestive track, and who knows what all else is covered/filled with bacteria and viruses, most harmless, although there are some real doozies in the mix as well. You could do a swab/culture on just about anything and find something nasty. Yet somehow, we survive. By far and away, 'serious' (Carol brings up a very important point, probably the dirtiest place in the house is the kitchen sink, and unless you want to pour bleach down the drain, the plumbing 'trap' is a regular breeding ground. The kitchen counters, cutting boards, sponges, rags, and all that can get absolutely chock full of nasty stuff, rapidly as well. Whats a person to do?!? Man-kind has dealt, rather successfully, with this over the millennia by certain rules - cook your food, peel your veggies/fruit if you're going to eat them raw. Added now with washing carefully salads and other raw veggies. Re 24 hour flu, thats a misnomer for viral gastrointestinal viruses spread by hand/mouth/door knob sort of stuff. We've one making the rounds here, it hit DD a few weeks ago, and dozens of other people we know over the last month. 24-36 hours of misery, and then it just goes away.

This is where I am at, DH seeÂs us remodeling kitchen in three or more years and I see us remodeling our kitchen in the next year or earlier. So, Right now I am more in the process of elimination as far as cabinet brands go. Many earlier brands have been eliminated due to size issues as in I want and need deeper and taller wall cabinets and prefer little to no fillers. Also, cost has been a big factor. I have a basic idea of layout but need help in changing the nook area and windows. Some appliances will be reused but we will replace refrigerator with the kichenaid 42" built-in French door paneled and replace the microwave with the adventium. I have the countertop narrowed down to three or four and know exactly what I want for the backsplash, still unsure of wall splash behind stove though. The kitchen sink has been narrowed down to two choices and cab hardware to three. I know what I want for lighting but havenÂt found exactly the right one, I will know it when I see it. Still tossing around the idea of wood range hood verses stainless. The doors of my dreams are simple $$$applied moulding but with most likely end up with nice raised panel for style of home. Husband thinks I spend way too much time thinking of and planning for the kitchen.

Well, there are three cops that live on our street, one on this side of our U shaped road, so I don't know how this one guy doesn't know what's going on. The kid across the street was in last week's paper, arrested for heroin and meth. Not sure if he knows the kids next door to me but I know his older brother does. His brother works at the gym Lauren went to last year and we talked about these neighbors. There were others in the paper from drug arrests but I don't know the next door neighbors' names. I feel bad for the kid across the streets parents. The mom works at Lauren's school and the father and one of the boys helped me dig out of the snow when I got stuck in my yard a few years ago. Going to be a while before I can do something permanent. Big tax bill to pay and upcoming parking pass for work I have to pay for in June. ) :

I remember his TV show and played the record until it wore out. I even had a racoon cap.

Loved the man ... and his wines are not too bad either. Our next door neighbor should own stock in Fess Parker wine, he drinks so much of it.

RIP Fess Parker, my childhood hero. One of the highlights of my childhood was when my mother picked me up after school one day and took me to a department store where we stood in a long line and I got to shake his hand. I kept wishing I had worn my coonskin hat.

Fess Parker's Old Patch Red is a nice red table wine -- good with hamburgers, pizza, etc.

Remember the scene in Sideways where Miles picks up the wine dump bucket and pours it over himself? The winery in the movie was called Frass Canyon. That was the Fess Parker winery.

I don't know if you've ever noticed but it seems that whenever an old time movie actor dies the TV schedule fills up with his / her old movies. I will be looking forward to the Davy Crockett films in the coming weeks. RIP Fess Parker.

According to the paper he was later dubbed 'King of the WINE Frontier' LOL. I just asked at the local liquor store if any Fess Parker wines were available. After getting looked at like I had two heads by the 25ish clerk, the silver haired other clerk informed me that unfortunately they did not. A shame.
