WS - If they haven't come up....
Comments (7)Syreeta, I found sprouts of Belamcanda chinensis and Sarracenia purpurea on June 25th, I donÂt check all that often any more. So donÂt give up on the perennials. If you have had the same weather I have had the last while, that has not been helpful. A couple of weeks of hot dry weather and then a couple of weeks of cloud and "showers." 14mm last night! The town here put on watering restrictions for the first time since I moved here and ever since it has rained on the days I am allowed to water the lawn. Comments (77)Congrats, Midnight. Growing a clivia to blooming size from seed is a great accomplishment. I hope you'll start a separate thread with pics once the blooms are open. Great plants! Socks, Disneyland and I have a lot in common, heh heh, and no, not because I'm "goofy"! I like a lot of the plants they use, and how they create such cheerful/jarring combinations. I just planted a bare root 'Disneyland' rose, which, while not jarring, is certainly perky like the many they have planted there. I've been gardening since I was five years old and have reached the point where I just plant what I enjoy and what makes me smile, so "tastemakers" be damned, lol. The brighter, taller, and stinkier, the more I like my orange marigolds. I actually struggle to find non-dumpy dwarf types. Usually I get them from Select Seeds or Seeds of Change...what about you? Take care, Grant...See MoreIf you haven't already done so....
Comments (8)Go back one page to your Wisconsin forum page. Look at the top and click on the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Some people are leaving because of the changes, but really, little has changed from before. It's just more in depth and uses inflammatory words like "profit". I am staying, but I won't post any high resolution photos that I want to keep as my own. From the 24th on, just don't put anything on GW that you don't want possibily used elsewhere without your knowledge. Low resolution photos are useless for reproduction. Since the new policies do not pertain to anything posted before the 24th,the whole thing is not a big deal in my opinion....See MoreFreeze warning tonite in Wisconsin, I still haven't dug up the dahlias
Comments (8)cicivacation, I should maybe give this it's own subject line but specifically what do you look for to come up with a virus diagnosis? My plants in my yard had some problems mid-summer; they started looking bad, yellowing and dying leaves from the bottom up. Since the plants improved as soon as the nights cooled I'm thinking the unusual heat or even mites, which like the heat. And the dahlias at the farm came from the same bags, the same stock, and didn't have this problem so I'm thinking not virus. I read that's what's so difficult about diagnosing virus is that the symptoms can be similar to other problems....See MoreKathsgrdn
