Put Your Feet Up: A Dozen Overstuffed and Comfy Rooms
Take a seat in one of these cozy dens and family rooms and you'll never want to leave
The other day Houzz User Charlotte posted the following question next to this first picture: "Could you direct me to similar rooms on this site?? Love the overstuffed, comfy look. Thanks." I think Charlotte has just the right idea. It's the perfect time of year for overstuffed and comfy. Read on for ideas for your own comfy room.

A pair of overstuffed floral chairs with a shared ottoman is a great spot for two to enjoy reading, watching a game or better yet, catching up at the end of the day. Walls overstuffed with art and shelves stuffed with books add to the comfortable feel.
Overstuffed and comfy is not limited to darker colors; light colored fabrics layer a coastal look over all that stuffing.
This may be the picture I've seen featured the most on Houzz over the years, proving the timelessness of cozy done in a beautiful way. Fireplace, slipcovers, autumnal throws and a seagrass rug add layers of comfort.
French doors with transom windows flood this comfortable room with light. There are plenty of places to sink in and stay for awhile here.
I once heard a photo stylist explain the difference between "eclectic" and "collected." This room is definitely the latter; it's a mix of carefully selected pieces and features classical architecture. It also has the most inviting-looking sofa around, complete with casually tossed, unmatching throw pillows.
Comfortable does not mean just overstuffed; it can also refer to dimensions. This sofa is deeper than your average sofa, and the chair is much wider than a standard armchair.
Plaid, floral and patchwork prints lend an updated look when used with restraint.
Elements of rustic-cabin chic add to the ease of this family-friendly room. Though not full of stuffing, a rocking chair is another great choice for a comfy den.
Weathered boards also bring in a cozy cabin feel. The cushy yet well-tailored furniture keeps the overall look sophisticated.

The leather-bound library aesthetic is always inviting. I can practically smell some academic's pipe smoke when I look at this room.
Metallic finishes and menswear-inspired textiles give this overstuffed room a polished look.

By the way, in this ideabook, "overstuffed" is a big compliment.
