I came to this forum after my golden died December 2005. Don't post much, but read what is interesting. My husband and I don't have cats anymore, just dogs (and grown-up kids). I haven't posted pictures here before, so I'm not sure if this will work...

Terri, your pictures are great. Your horses are beautiful, and so are your dogs.

My children are grown, and we have two goldens. One is almost 8, and the other is about 7 months. We are still grieving over the loss of Rocky last October, but do enjoy our two dogs. Our first was a bassett, and we loved him dearly, but hound dogs slobber a lot, and we want dogs inside and out, so we have settled on goldens for now.

Besides my job my passion is to grow roses. I have between 250 and 300 large rose bushes. We don't live on a farm, I have just used almost all of our yard for roses.

Lorie aka lostnca here, I live in a small town in the Trent Hills area of Ontario Canada. I have 1 rescue lab named Abby that we were blessed with last Jan and one Princess Maltese named Daffy who is 8 yrs old now and I have had since she was 12 weeks old.
Our three cats are Banshee ( 19 yrs and have had since she was 4 weeks and bottle fed)
Mo The Moleinator who is 4 and is the best mole catcher the county ever had! Her human before us was a professional football player so she thinks she is all that and a bag of chips. lol )
Chester is our Blue Russian and is our "gift" from our daughter who adopted a cat only to have her give birth to 6 beautiful kittens. Chester is the only cat I ever had that liked to go for rides in the car, which is good since he came to Canada by automobile from Florida.

This is a good idea. There are new faces that come in and may not have seen introductions before. I live in west Tennessee. As you can probably tell my favorite breed is Dobermans. Currently I have a 15 year old Chow and a 9 week old German Shepherd puppy. I'm on a waiting list for another Dobe but the breeding/litter is not until this fall.I also have 3 parrots,3 ponies and 2 cats. I enjoy competing in obedience trials and can't wait to get the pup into some classes. Live Sammy I live to garden too and I'm very envious of all her roses lol. I don't have a lot of sunny areas, mostly shade so I grow hostas. lots and lots of hostas.

I'm in Texas. My family is my husband, 4 cats, 2 dogs. All rescues..... including the husband. :-)
We have an acre, so I have a place to garden.( we moved here in June last year) I am totally hooked on the hummingbirds. I also raise red wigglers, that have supplied me with the most amazing compost.
I'm 51, and grew up in Ohio, but moved to Texas 5 yrs ago. I miss my friends and family desperatly. But I LOVE TEXAS and wish they'd just come here, cuz.... I'm not leavin'!
I've spent most my life involved in rescue. I even had my own little cat rescue for a while. Now I'm just trying to take care of my own. Time to just relax and enjoy what I have.
I like Garden Web and have learned a lot on the forums. Also have enjoyed a few hot debates on the debate forum.

Hi, I'm Vickie, a widow, 67 yrs old. have 2 DD,s one in Texas where we used to live and one next door to me. Have 2 fur babys,both rescued. Dillen a hound-blue heeler cross. Cricket a pug-chihuahua cross.

I love my flowers also, have daylilies,roses,hostas,lots of spring flowers and other perannuals.

I live on top of a mnt in the ARK Ozarks in NW AR on 30 acres of hardwood forest next to Ozark NAT. Forest.Have lots of wild life for neighbors.

My family currently consists of 13 cats (all rescues in one way or another), 3 dogs, 2 horses (3 before I had to put down one of my old mares yesterday), and 2 goldfish. Oh yes, and Joe, my housemate.

I've been hanging out here on the GW Pets Forum since the day of its inception years ago. I also participate in several other internet pet forums.

Although my 4-legged family always has and always will be my top priority and raison d'etre, I am also rather obsessed with irises.

I'm Meghan in my 3rd year of vet school at NC State- one year left! I married a great guy almost 15(!) years ago- Dave, and he let me share my love with 4 dogs, a ferret, an iguana, and a parrot. Born and raised in Baltimore, moved to NC 8 years ago and just starting to like it. I miss the big city but am now spoiled on Southern weather and artsy-fartsy hippy Carrboro, so will probably stay a while. Unless I get a great job in south Florida. Big hobby is scuba diving, hence the desire to move to Florida. Also love gardening (another good reason to move further south).
I've been on these forums a while too; started on the Garden Web side and migrated to Pets and Home Decorating. Also sometimes post on Marriage and Health. Haven't been doing the garden thing lately because of school, but am very excited to be done with class time so I can get outside more often.

I'm Sherry. I'm 45 and have lived in Texas for over 20 years. I'm married with 3 kids - one is in college and doesn't live at home anymore. We had one cat for 15 years, and after he died I didn't want to replace him. Then, a couple of years later I was sick of watching big, fat squirrels dancing on my patio so I figured even an indoor cat might scare them off. So, I let the kids pick one out from the local shelter. Then, I had to go back and get the one I really liked. Then, I discovered ragdolls and had to get one. Two weeks from now I go pick up one last cat - a boy ragdoll kitty. This is him. I can't wait!

My name is Bobby. I am 23 and I have lived in Florida my entire life. I do not want to spend the rest of my life here though. My best friend moved back home to Arkansas a few years ago and if I don't fall in love before I graduate college, I'll be joining her. My family hasn't spoken to me since I was 19 because I am gay and they are rednecks who do not like anyone that isn't just like them. I am putting myself through community college right now... doing pre reqs for the radiograpy program off and on, but considering changing my major to something that I have a real passion for instead of just something that will pay the bills. I got my first apartment in October and haven't been back to school since because I was still getting settled balancing bills and being on my own for the first time. Will return in August though. I collect antique vacuum cleaners and I love to bake. When I'm not indulging in either of those two hobbies, I can be found on the loveseat glued to an epidode of I Love Lucy. I've been attending the forums since I was about 16! I came here originally for the cleaning tips forum which I loved. I also used to read the appliances forum a lot. Now that I have my own fur baby and my own apartment, pets and apartments are also fun to read. My new favorite forum is the cooking one. I started going there after getting my own apartment and having to cook for myself for the first time. There is a great group of people over there and the forum is one of the most active (quickly moving) on the site.
Onto my furbaby! His name is Jasper! He is a one year old orange tabby that I got from the SPCA. I got him back around the end of August or beginning of September 2006 before moving to my apartment. I knew that being on my own would be scary and perhaps lonely so I needed a companion. I have always loved cats and knew that I wouldn't have the motivation or time to walk a dog. I was staying with a former friend for a month while I was on the waiting list for my apartment and he pushed me to get a cat before I moved so that the cat would get to know me and his pets (for socialization... he used to work in a zoo and knows animals very well). As soon as I walked into the
SPCA, they placed a 6 month old tabby in my arms called Clue. I looked at all the other cats there, and really wanted a baby kitten. However Clue was very sweet and his award winning personality combined with is beautiful cream orange color stole my heart. I quickly changed his name to something I could stand (Jasper) and took him home the next day after his neutering and shots were completed. He has certainly made me feel at home. He is always doing things to make me laugh, like ripping a brand new loaf of bread to shreds or tearing into the new cat food bag while I'm putting the other groceries away (even though food dish is full!). He is very sweet and purrs any time I touch him or pick him up. He seems to be getting MORE active as he ages. I hope me mellows out a bit because I really want a placid lap kitty, but I'll love him for who he is and not want I want him to be. I'm sure most of you have see a pic of him, but here it is again:

Hey Bobby, don't feel bad about your family - I once gave my mother up for lent, and lent lasted six years! I was an X-ray tech. for a long time. There are such a variety of things you could do once you got certified, but I also understand it not being your passion. Gorgeous eyes on your kitty. I want one with that coloring someday.

Hi, I am Linda, married for 27 years, and 49y/o. I have lived in central and northern Indiana most of my life. I was an X-Ray tech also for a few years, and then went into health care administration. I am a stay at home mom to my two fur-babies now due to muscular dystrophy. I guess that it is only fitting that I have two special needs dogs. Bessie stole my heart almost 15 years ago. I found her on her last day at the humane society. She is deaf now, but she doesn't care because she can still smell bread. Bessie lives for bread.

Bessie found Maggie in a box on our patio 10 years ago. I wonder how that box got there? LOL. Bessie proceeded to spoil Maggie rotten. Maggie is the typical stubborn doxie. Thank goodness. She went completely blind when she was 6 and most people do not even realize it. It has been an amazing journey to watch this little girl adapt. She has taught me so much. Maggie lives for any food.

I dont post much, but always enjoy reading the posts and seeing the pictures of every one's babies.

Congrats on living in Texas for 20 yrs. The only thing I don't like about Texas is that no matter if I live here until I'm 100, I'll never be a "native". Darn! I got here as soon as I could.! Still, I'll never be able say, "I'm a NATIVE" and that seems to be a big deal here.

I'm in Middle tennessee and this is my favorite forum although I love the trash to treasure, organization, and cleaning forum.

Despite my handle I quit grooming about 6 weeks ago, I've been grooming for 5 years and quit due to the toll it was taking on my body. I miss it very much but do enjoy staying home with my almost 2yr old DD and being here for my almost 8yr DS when he gets in from school. I'm hoping to get the health issues underway and open my own grooming shop within the next year!

I have 2 shih tzus, Paisley(4yrs) and Lucy(3yrs). I took Lucy in about 6 mos ago from a lady who couldn't handle her bad habits, which she is working on overcoming and doing very well.
I have a rottie pup that is 8 mos old and his name is Kaiser.
I also have a chocolate lab named Jackson who decided he loved farm life more than me :( When I moved from my parents to the city he decided to stay on the farm but he comes to visit every now and then. Jackson is almost 5 and I took him in at 18mos from a man that was going to euthanize him b/c he was too hyper. He ran for 2 hours the day I brought him home and I think it ran all of the hyper out of him seeing as he hasn't run since.

Oakleif, when I first registered here I lived in Parthenon! I bet you know where that is! I lived there for 2 years. It was just one of the many different places that my EX husband drug me to live. I'm a native Texan...Ex couldn't stand it there so he drug me to Florida then back again to Texas when things didn't work out then back again to SW Florida and then ended up in Harrison Arkansas and bought 51 acres in Parthenon...it was unbelievably beautiful there...things weren't working out for the Ex there either so we were going to move...ended up divorcing and then moving of course. Met a wonderful man from Ohio and live up here now. I always wanted to move back to Texas, I didn't want to move away to begin with but the Ex hated the heat there so he moved me away but guess where he moved when we divorced...right back to Houston,Tx? Whatever?

I'm a dog lover! My baby passed away in 2005 and I don't think there will ever be another one like him! He was my buddy and exercise partner...taking me on walks every day! He was a mix that we never could figure out what but he looked like Ridgeback/Rottie mix or Boxer/Rottie mix. He lived to be about 14 which I accredit to our daily walks and no junk food.

Oh, everyone's pets are all so cute. I am just loving all the pictures and learning a little about the pet parents.
And jancarkner, I agree my Jynx does look just like your Corby, and it seems like they also like the same things, as mine loves to look out the window (and back door) all the time, too.

Laurief, what Chicago suburb were you raised in? I was raised in LaGrange. Moved to the Twin Cities of Minnestoa 18 years ago for my work as a college professor. Two cats, 8 year old siblings, one of whom just came home after being hospitalized for two weeks for hyperthyroid treatment--so I currently have a still partially radioactive cat in the house! I love all animals but cats suit my single lifestyle, especially since I travel a lot.

I'm 20 years old, and I live in Alberta, Canada. I've lived with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years. I do child care out of my home part-time and will be full time, soon.

We've got 6 babies, 4 with fur, and two with spikes and skin!

These first two are my beagle girl, 2 y/o Coda, Patiently waiting for dinner (think my flash was too bright? LOL) and then being grumpy because she didn't want to lay down.

This is big guy. 11 y/o boxer-pitbull Ponch. Origionally my boyfriends dog, but he's turned mom-suck lately.

These are my furry ladies. 1 y/o resin is the black one, and 4 y/o zoey is the calico. And that first one is the look you get when you wake cats from their nap.

And I don't have any pcitures of the lizards on this computer. But we have a 10 year old mali uromastyx named Bowser and a 1 year old Bearded dragon named Kupa.

I wasn't going to post here because I am still reeling from the loss of my beloved Jelika (the calico) but seeing everyone else's babies just made me smile so much.

Like others here, there hasn't been a day in my life that I haven't had a pet. Growing up we had a tabby cat (Fluffy)and a Bouvier des Flander dog (Charcoal), then we had a Rottie (Caesar), and then I got Jelika. She was the first pet that was truly mine even though I got her when I was 12. That is why it's been so hard for me to let her go. She saw me through all of my teen years as well as all of my 20's. She moved across the country and back with me, she has been through countless boyfriends and one husband with me. She has seen me through everything. I would not be who I am today if not for her. She even very very very reluctantly let me adopt another kitty, Kitty.

So I have posted other pics elsewhere, but here is a refresher of what my dear hearts look(ed) like. Kitty is still with me (the black one). Jelika was 18 years 7 months. Kitty is around 12.

I'm from Pa and had a betta who died today, but the rest of the pets not counting the 17 large koi in two outside ponds are: 18 year old Louie, an orange tiger, 14 year old Maddie a grey tiger, 8 year old Lily a tortie/ calico, 6 year old Phoebe, a Russian Blue, 5 year old Annie a large Tortie and Nellie, her mom ,age unknown, who is the spitting image of her daughter. Can't tell them apart and both weigh 17 pounds too. And last but not least, my 9 month old Henry, a marbleized dark grey tiger w/ a white bib..

I'm a gardening addict certainly, extremely happy that spring has finally arrived. I'm usually on the garden web side, but visit 'pets' occasionally to see what's going on.
I'm primarily a lurker, always have been,probably always will be.

I have two weiner dogs and one terrier mix, plus 2 cats. All 5 sleep with me. I have a king sized bed, for them primarily, otherwise I'd have no room.
They are all spoiled rotten and loved tremendously.

I am Mary from Central Florida. I am a r eitired kindergarten teacher of 22 years. I now stay home with my tow 10 month old Minilabraldoodles, named Amos and Andi. We got them after losing our Chelsea, a 14 year old Brittany. Before her we had Poppy, a cockapoo who lived to be 18.

I am an avid butterfly gardener and spend alot of time in my back yard. My babies love helping me unplant my plants! Amos' job is to bring me all the little plastic pots, usually after he has broken them into tiny pieces.
Andi can dig a hole alot faster than I can but it is usually not where I want the plant to go. If there is a bit of trimmings laying around, they help by scattering it all over the yard! Gotta love them!

This picture was taken before Amos got his summer cut, he is black and more curly. Andi, his sister is the blonde and doesn't like having her picture taken.

My name is Joann, I live with a s/o who I've lived with for 37 years, he and I have always had animals. Right now we are living with six cats, two dogs, one horse, five pigmey goats and six hens and a rooster. I post on the garden party, farm forum, cooking/photo, and my favorite pets, and pet debates. I live in Northern California, ground zero of the emerald triangle so trail riding with my horse can be a challange. I work at a feed store so I get to see a lot of animals. We live on six acers with a pond and woods.

I'm Lori, live in South Dakota with one German Short Hair Pointer, one Large Munsterlander, and one 18-year old cat. I don't post often, but I have been checking here quite a bit lately with all the food recall stuff.

A Large Munsterlander is a color variation of a German Long Hair Pointer (black and white compared to liver colored) and I have done some hunting trails with her. I am working on training her more and we are considering another hunting trial this spring. Here is her pic:

I loved all the fur babies and would love to pet them all. You think i'm kidding---No Way. I talk to dogs in parked cars. alway see a dog and ask owner if it bites and then love away. I talk to cats too but they pretend they don't notice me mostly.

Terri, a PM is a personal message, or email. I didn't want you think I was stalking you or your puppy... My friend purchased her Puggle in Michigan. The markings are nearly identical and I wondered if they could have been from the same litter. They are adorable dogs :-)
