I'm sorry to sound this way but.....YES, YES, YES!!! It's finally coming to a close! I LOVE fall but do not feel the same for summer! Heat waves, mosquitos, dead brown grass, I am soooo glad I've made it though another one! Bring on the splendar of fall and the beautiful snow pictures! I don't post in here much, but I'm always "lurking" looking at the wonderful pictures that are posted. I love this site! Keep the pictures coming in! When you post a snow picture, think of me!

No it doesn't. And they will tolerate the stress of transplanting better too. Just pinch off the bloom clusters and move them to a cooler environment while cutting back on watering and no feeding. That dormant treatment will slow growth till they can be planted. Dave

So pretty and a little jealous - my apricot has yet to wake up! Love watching the bees, I like to pretend that they are "on the job" and so I go about checking my grafts saying things like "Oh excuse me ladies, don't let me get in your way as I peel back this foil...."

I just saw outdoor jack o'lantern pieces in front of Kroger before the kids are back in school and thought that was bad. Have received a couple of Halloween/fall themed catalogs recently, but not Christmas (unless DH is pitching them before I see them). I understand stores that sell for crafting stocking early. It can take months to do some projects (needlework, esp) and some folks start making in quantity to sell. I', used to those showing up in July, but I can't think about Christmas when kids are still out of school and we're being told we are just getting to the heart of hurricane season (supposed to be an active one and we haven't really ahd anything yet). And until the rain hit this past weekend, we'd been up over 100 degrees.

We need to remember that some of our plants turn very early. They probably wouldn't be noticed very much with some of the later ones.

I like fall but I do wish the summer hadn't been so blazing hot that I couldn't stay out in it very long. One of the "JOYS" of aging.
