Quality of Pottery Barn's Medicine Cabinets?
Comments (21)I have read reports of the mirror glass blackening around the edges of med cabs, too. The solution is to only use water and a microfiber cloth when cleaning them. Never use glass cleaner, most of all! I found a space where a med cab used to be in our half bath, behind the wall mirror. It turns out that there is a wall safe made to fit there, too. I got one and my carpenter made a frame around the back side of the mirror, onto which he put a piano hinge. Since it is near the corner of the room, you cannot see behind to see the hinge and the mirror is only about a half inch off the wall, so it is not too noticeable. My friend with the drug habit has not found it, as far as I know, and the safe is working to hold interesting medications and our cash....See MoreNeed help with bathroom wall color please
Comments (14)Thanks for your help, everyone! On Sunday I got fed up with it and ended up painting it the same light beige as the rest of the house, Valspar Homestead Resort Buff. It goes perfect with the bone colored toilet and sink, but it seems to bring more of a yellowish tint to the ugly plastic tile than I'd like. I don't think there's anything that will make that tile look good. LOL! Hopefully once I hang a shower curtain, the tile won't be that noticeable. I like the idea of dark accents to break up the boring beige a little. I still have to do the trim and then I'll remove the blue tape and post a picture. This is a mobile home, by the way, which is why the tile is plastic instead of fiberglass. The sinks in the bathrooms were an even uglier color plastic if you can imagine anything uglier than that tile, so I replaced them with bone colored ceramic sinks. Can't do anything about the tile though, as the newer mobile home shower surrounds don't fit the older models....See MoreMedicine Cabinets - Out?
Comments (54)Here's the one in my bathroom in Cathedral City It's at the far left in this photo, and the sink I use is on the right. This medicine cabinet is empty - I just never thought to use since, since I use the sink on the right, which is closer to the towel racks, which I consider to be more important. This medicine cabinet has a mirror on the inside of the door. My medicine cabinet in L.A. is pretty much full, and I would like to replace it with a new one. When I redid my brother's bathroom, I kept his like-new medicine cabinet and had to make sure that the door swing would clear the wall mirror that I selected for him. There is about 1" clearance:...See MoreNeed design help for above medicine cabinet vanity light dilemma
