My ivy leafed small light blue morning glories bloomed first and got to about four foot tall. The Early morning, or tall mix got tallest at about ten foot and bloomed much later. Because they needed to be sown after frost I didn't see a lot of difference between my direct sown and winter sown. I didn't use the best soil though and my drainage was bad. This year I'm doing more and will be direct sowing for ease of planting out.

I've informed Michael K. and Brian Weber about the name change, and I think I've told the story here before, too. The N. (princeps x Fireball) x 'Peggy Pollard' is a hybrid by Gary Hendrix that he finally registered in Jan. '06 as N. 'Bob Work'. It looks as though it's widely grown by members of this forum, and deservedly so! The seed parent (princeps x Fireball) is Gary's hybrid which he registered as N. 'Granada'. Gary told me that N. 'Peggy Pollard' (on my original label it was 'Peggy Pollard #13') was a plant that he got from Peggy Pollard's garden that later turned out to be properly identified as N. burlemarxii. hdd, I've had some fun hybridizing with it, too! Japie, Bob may be right in suggesting Ae. 'Fulgo ramosa'. Bullis also registered the discolor selection as Ae. 'Shining Light'. I don't know if it's the same plant masquerading in commerce under two different names, but I can't tell them apart by the photos on fcbs. Paul

Kathsgardn - I've only had Maytag in my lifetime and bought a new energy efficient model when we bought this house, bout 4 years ago. I'd almost kill to have the one I left in the house we sold ;0) Given the neighborhood and proximity to school and park, I was trying to attract a young start-up family with my listing and everything needed already in the house. It sold immediately to a downsizing couple almost my age ;0( I should have taken my freezer, washer, dryer. I never use the normal cycle, there's no water in it. Bulky has water, so does Hand Wash. The Whites cycle does a great job, but I've got a laundry sink right next to the washer and I add about 4 half gal pitchers of hot water to dry clothes before starting the machine, I assume like Moni does. The machine 'senses' a much heavier bigger load and adds its own hot water accordingly. Adding to the washing machine dying thread today but here: My BIL tired of his new Maytag too. He gave it to his church and bought a GE Deep Fill, not expensive. Stainless tub, a real agitator, and it has an optional button that overrides the energy efficient settings and fills the tub to the brim. Understanding though for the price, it's probably not going to last forever. I'm sorry for everyone finding themselves nightowls when they don't wish to be. Marilyn, I hope you feel better soon and this is just stress....you've got good reason to be stressed for sure. On top of everything else, I don't think I'd do well in someone else's home.
