Will this color combo in bedroom look good?

My daughter who will be 20 soon wants us to redecorate her bedroom for her birthday. She has a smal 12X12 bedroom with a large window on the south wall, wall closet on the north wall, full size bed on the west wall along with night stand on the right & tall bookcase on the left of her bed in the corner. She has an armoire in the corner on the other side of the room(east/south) and a dresser with mirror on the left of the armoire and bedroom door to the left of the dresser. All the furniture is black. She said that she wants light to medium shade of gray, white mouldings, white down comforter accented with some black pillows & light seafoam blue pillows & accessories. White drapes. She said she wants it very tranquil. I can't seem to visualize how these light colors will all look together (gray, seafoam blue, white)I suggested a pop of a bold color but she said no..that her bold color will be the black that is on the furniture. Anyone have pics of a room in this color scheme?

Sorry no pic but I think it sounds great. She's right. The black will ground everything. I might do the seafoam on the walls. You could go a greyish light blue instead of just grey on the walls.

Thanks. I do think we'll be hanging a LCD on the wall above the dresser(ours will only be 19-21"). I do find that other stores/furniture-makers mimic Pottery Barn pieces 6 months to a year after they come out with something--but I'm not waiting that long and there are no guarantees! Aside from a simple TV mounted on the wall, these are other ideas I've received: --Hanging the tv behind a mirror that is made for TV in the bedroom. These mirrors are less opaque than the ones used in bathroom/TV setups--but they are very expensive at this pt! --I think one TV manufacturer is making a tv that is already a mirror when off--Philips? Again, very expensive. --Put the TV up on the wall but put a frame around it like a picture. Someone suggested velcro to attach to the frame of TV(?) I guess you'd just have to be careful to be sure it doesn't hinder air circulation. --Place other pictures, plates, etc around the tv (if it's not a big one) and treat it like another picture. And searching Google images is a good idea.

Annie, the walls are still just primed. I'm doing this one in the right order! I think velvet is the best choice, a little sheen to meet the embroidery thread's challenge, a little lux, but plenty of thick 100% cotton to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. Blue, pimento olive and moss all look good in velvet, don't you think? So should I try to find blue drapes as accent and paint the walls some kind of yellow for continuity with the rest of the house? Or should I stick with the lower contrast formula that a yellowed or grayed green would offer. The whole house is pretty shaded, fwiw.

Yes, I think pink is a beautiful color for a master bedroom! The trick is picking the right pink and then balancing it with other elements that are not overly feminine. I love pink and brown together, or black. When choosing a grownup ink go to the brown section in your color deck. As you move up to the lighter colors you will see what I refer to as dirty pinks. These are softer, more pleasing pinks that men can love.

Wandered over to Pottery Barn (not a fan, frankly, but they do enjoy their mix of grays and beiges...) And I think this is something that would look great. It's layering of both colors and textures... You could adjust the amounts to have more grays, but I think a natural linen would be a good starting point...

Sounds very urban chic! What she is wanting is called a "loft" look here in the Southern city I live in. Lots of twentysomethings moving into renovated lofts in the city and doing cool, modern looks.

My BF told me that gray is THE neutral this year, so it's very current.

And black and white are always in style.

This sounds positively chic! I love it! I am picturing a chrystal chandlier too! You could always add color with things on the dresser, like these flowers in the Ben Moore photo. There are many choices of light blue/greens so I'm not sure what she wants as far as Seafoam but here's a few. Your dd has great taste.
