What's for dinner Thursday?

Tonight we're having teriyaki marinated salmon, orzo and asparagus (leftover) and a mint chocolate chip Klondike bar for dessert (even though the high today was only 64).

Went to get the mail and had 6 packages plus our regular mail. I'd ordered 4 new shorts for Harry, since he's gone from a 42 waist to a 38. Don't want him looking like a teenager with his pants hanging down below his undies :-)
Have to take them back to Beall's--don't like the material. It looks "slick". Ick! Also got myself 3 new pair of sandals for summer.

Had a card from the P.O. stuck in the door yesterday, so went to the little post office in the mall to pick it up. It was Harry's C-Pap mask, hose and filters.

Better go start dinner--what are you having tonight?

Paw Paw Patch, today: chicken fried steak, baby green limas, and okra and tomatoes. Yummy!

Cheryl took Amber and me out to lunch at Richard's today and we all had the Richard's Favorite burger and salad bar. It was good, so this evening I just had oatmeal. I really don't like eating much in the evening.

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

wow, chicken livers... haven't had them in a LONG time. Sauteed chicken livers used to be a comfort food for me! Most people I know now would rather starve than be forced to eat a chicken liver. I can't imagine a restaurant selling them. lol! Great. Now I'm craving either chicken liver, beef liver, or liverwurst. ;p Good thing I have a chocolate cake in the oven! :)

Old Fixer, I find that the weeds are terrible to pull when the soil is bone dry. I usually leave the root in the soil. :( Fun, I smiled when I read what your dinner was. Did you pop it on the stove, or microwave? We had chili from the freezer. I like mine over rice with a dollop of yogurt to tame the heat.

Well, I woke up this morning and hubby had 2 pounds of ground beef and 1 pound of sausage thawing in the refrigerator. Cans of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and tomato paste were on the kitchen counter next to the stove. I took a guess that was a pretty good hint that he was ready for another big pot of spaghetti sauce. We had a huge shrimp salad, spaghetti, and garlic bread.

Today just sounded like a meatloaf day, so I made one. I had that along with some cranberry beans, and home fries.

Glenda, speaking of okra and tomatoes, I saw in our Publix ad this week that Margaret Holmes has canned okra, tomatoes and corn mix now. Don't remember seeing that before.

Marilyn, sure was nice of the girls to treat you to lunch. I think I'd rather have oatmeal for dinner than breakfast. I owe you an e-mail!

Pam, another chicken fried steak! And it does sound good. How did yours turn out (since it was an experiment)?

Shirley, last time I made meatloaf I divided the mix into two parts and froze both of them. Still have one left for a treat one of these nights!!

I've tried and like Holmes okra, tomatoes and corn mix. Good.

Chicken fried steak was good. Hubby created a gelatinous mess rather than gravy!

weird I posted mine just a bit ago after patti first posted and it is not here!
Ok so I have fresh salmon steaks that I will blacken and steamed broccoli to go with it and some of the roasted corn from last night.

Pam, that's funny--gelatinous mess!! That's a shame because that gravy is half the goodness of making chicken fried steak

Raven, hope your salmon is as good as ours was. I sure will be buying that again! I would've liked broccoli with it but we had asparagus in the orzo.

Fried oysters. Jody brought home a quart and I fried some. I didn't tell him that when our daughter came out today, we went to town and ate.....fried oysters. :))

I braised a roast with lots of onions, carrots, and rutabaga. Deeeelicious! I think I'll add some barley and mushrooms for its
second appearance tomorrow.

The rutabaga was especially sweet.

we had crockpot lasagna, cheesy garlic toast and salad. lasagna was surprisingly good for making it in the crockpot. :)
