I am going to order pizza. We had a long day today. We took my sister for her surgical checkup, about two and a half hours away. We had a good (and inexpensive!) lunch today and I bought two badly needed pillows. Appointment went well.

Glad to hear your sister's appointment went well. That's a heck of a drive! Glad you got to shop and have a lunch together--that's always fun. I'd probably be in bed already :-)

Leftover lasagna. I'm going to have to freeze individual pieces tomorrow or I'll be eating it for a week.

I did get to see a little sunshine today but it is cold (low 30s) here in my part of Ohio, along with brisk winds to make it even colder. (But I'll take this over Marie's weather anytime.)

Talapia, oven roasted multi color potatoes, steamed broccoli.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs and potato chips was our supper. They were a little too strong for our tastes, so will decrease the amount of basil and oregano next time, but still they were good.

Fusilli with homemade meat sauce, and garlic bread. Neapolitan ice cream with our tea.

Another long day even though my plans for babysitting changed. Instead, Amber, Alyssa and I did our weekly grocery shopping. Cheryl came and fixed lunch for Norm and put his eye drops in for him. He can not do it, so 4 times a day medication must be put in his eye. Our supper was chili from Wendy's, fresh strawberries, cheese, crackers and lemon bars. Tomorrow morning early back to the surgeon's for a check up. Very windy and cold here today. I think only in the 20's.

We were able to have the back door open last evening and someone in the neighborhood was grilling burgers! Good grief (or should I say Holy Cow), they smelled good. So, Robert stopped off at the store to get some lean burger and a bag of Kingsford Competition-style coals.

I'll saute some mushrooms and onions, make my version of 'special sauce ', and romaine lettuce and tomato on top.

We went out for dinner tonight. Oysters on the half shell and a basket of fried clams. Everything was good. The clams were fresh and plump. It never rained here today just a bit overcast.

Winter is dragging on ... and on ... But some subtle signs of spring are finally showing up, can't happen soon enough! For dinner today, leftover veggie lasagna and maybe going out for an ice cream cone later today. That's one of the signs of spring here - the ice cream shops open for business.

Well I know what we're having for dinner tomorrow. My neighbour who is an avid fisherman just knocked on our door and gave us a plate with a big piece of trout fillet on it. Cooked and spiced and ready to eat.

Shirley, I'm pretty much okay with weather as long as it's sunny. A few gray days, and I pout! Your lasagne will come in handy on busy days when you don't have time to cook.

Raven, I was disappointed that the pictures of the Houston get-together were taken after you left. Hey, if I have the nerve to do it, you should, too :-) Maybe we'll meet some day, who knows. It would be fun, though.

Linda, I made sweet and sour meatballs not long ago but the recipe I used was too sweet. Ended up throwing them out--such a waste.

Jasdip, you must be thinking "spring"--ice cream for dessert. You sure have great neighbors to bring you fresh fish. Enjoy!

Sure was nice of Cheryl to come help with Norm--those drops are really important. Harry couldn't do his own either. He had 3 different ones. I only remember that one was an antibiotic. Does he have to have his other eye done? It must've been a really good year for our strawberries--they've been pretty cheap--well, considering.

Rhizo, oh the torture--smelling grilled burgers after a long winter. Bet you'll savor every bite!

Georgysmom, your dinner sounds so yummy! Just before dinner we got a really good rain--plus thunder and lightning. I could do without that, but it's over now.

Stacey, it sure didn't seem like the first day of spring for the NE--my niece in Massachusetts had terrible weather yesterday and today--snow, sleet and a mix of just about everything evil :-) Good sign if your ice cream shops are open. Surely spring will be here soon.
