spitfire and tarnations - i am fed up.

I'm frustrated. We've been in the house since June. I've been posting since about that time. And now I'm losing my cool. I was trying to figure out what *I* like. I thought I liked the shabby chic look? No - too much stuff (for me), and I really don't have an eye for what works.

I've realized now that I love the clean lines of a "vintage" look. I love my black and white kitchen, and I love my bird pillow. I love my old blanket that has bright colors.

And my plaid curtains are okay.

But everything else is too...antique-y. The table in the corner, the clock, the curtains in the DR, the mirror in the DR, etc.

I'm sick of it. I want my house to reflect me. Instead, it reflect something I was trying to be. I need bright colors. I need fun textures.

I'm sorry for my rambling. I'll try to explain in pictures.

Not Me:

(except for the lamp and milk bottle thing):

(except for the table and hydrengas):

(except for the bird pillow and blanket):

Me:

**THINGS I CAN'T EASILY CHANGE:

-LR furniture. we aren't in a position to purchase anything large.

-Paint color, but that might HAVE to be changed. I think the light green chair/couch blends too boring-ly with wall color. But I do love my paint color...

**THINGS EASILY CHANGED:

-Paint the console table in the corner?

-Get a new clock?

-New drapes for the DR (already removed the runner/birds/mirror on wall)

-Paint the grouping of three mirrors on the entry wall wall? Bright, funky colors?

-New rug in entry way?

Help.
