I know exactly what you mean, and no, it is not a virus or anything. There is an old variety (do not know the name), but it is exactly as you describe. Chances are they have always been there, but you just have not seen them bloom until dividing them, and waiting for them to be blooming size. They look like one of the small early yellow ones, only double. I can best describe them as a daff having a bad hair day. I have both the singles and the doubles and got them from an old house site. Does that sound like them? Possibly someone else will know a possible name. Sue

Mskitchen, I have a spreadsheet, too. I used the spreadsheet to make the maps of lighting on my floor plans (plus assistance from a lighting designer). I can't imagine having to go back a 2nd day to do more! Lzerarc, we're working with allowances for the fixtures. But the electrician went through the house before we got there and marked what was included in our contract for the wiring. And he was showing us where standard/code outlets were going in case we needed to add more. It was much easier to see it in real life than on paper. So we did have everything included in the bid as per code, basically. We did consider furniture placement (had that mapped out when we did the house plans!) and decorating. Kymike1, that's a good idea to have a switch for the overhead lights! However, in our bedrooms we'll have ceiling fans (with or without light kits) that have remote controls. We can then mount the remote in a cradle near the bed for both fan and light control! Chisue, we completely forgot pendants and electrical outlet discussions on our island. I think that was one of the last areas we were looking at and we were so hot and tired we were rushing. I've gone back to the builder and asked about both of those things. And yes, we have security lights and the electrician did suggest putting a light switch in our MBR, which we thought was a brilliant idea!! Thanks for the support, everyone. :)

Hi again, I did find the pics from folks 60th. Their ann. is in May & I got 4 in. pots of petunias that were in full bloom at our local Green Arrow nursery were they give "free" plant wrappers. I had put a lovely floral 9x12 placemat-paper in same pattern as napkins & set plant on it as centerpiece for each table & surrounded plant with 4 of the votive candles I had made. I sent plants & candles home with guests. We didn't light them-fire danger with little ones around. All of us kids provided the food (5 of us) & I made lemon tarts & pecan tarts along with bakery bought whipped cream icing cake (mom's favorite, custard & strawberries in center) I made up a memory board of sheet cake cardboard from cake supply store covered with 4 fancy white rectangluar? paper doilies & pics of what "additions" had happened since 50th. There were couple of births, weddings ,graduations. For 50th you could make 1 of reunions, swim party, trips they took, their kids, Xmas,whatever they have done past 50 yrs. I had about 15 pics on this 1 & on 50th about 25 as I had wallet of their wedding (eloped) things they liked to do, dad's plane, hunting, mom's sewing, crocheting, etc. Whatever pics you have! It makes nice conversation piece. I finished board off with Victorian cutouts & silk flowers. Very easy! Just used scotch tape so everything was removable & if pics came from someone else could return them. I took close up's of Memory boards so they could have pics for memory photo book!! Jan

I was so fortunate to get my new-to-me table for free, I'll just pay it forward and when I decide which piece(s) can go, to make room for my table, I'll just offer it (them) on FreeCycle to someone who might be in need. Skypathway, Thank you so much! You're probably correct...the metal trim saved the table, along with that nice, thick piece of glass. As far as well-made, being in a hotel you are probably right about that also, but I wouldn't have a clue--don't know nuthin 'bout well-made or classic. I DO know this table is darn heavy! When it comes to tables, how would I tell on this table "well-made"? Is it the metal trim? Glass top? Sorry for the dumb questions but yes, if this is well-made then I won't have go find another hand-me-down table in the next 10 years like I'm usually doing to replace the one that fell apart. Usually when I decide to bring home something of the larger persuasion while out at Goodwill or Curb Shopping, hubby shakes his head in dismay and usually mumble-grumbles something like "Yea, like we need more 'stuff' in this house". This time when he saw this table, all he kept saying was "Wow". I can tell he loves the table as much as I. (A good thing because I'm really tired of all the fancy, conniving chatter I've been having to come up with lately. *Grin*) Polkadots, Thank you so much for saying that. If nothing else went right with my parents' move to Las Vegas, out of it came some wonderful friends for them. Good-hearted, kind people. Gated Senior Community. My parents were the oldest on their cul-de-sac yet my Dad fixed the cars in the little neighborhood and kept most of the electric wheelchairs and motorized hospital-type beds up and running and Mom would cook or clean house for anyone who became disabled through hospital stay or whatever. In turn, those folks were extremely kind to my parents. My new-to-me table is a direct result. A wonderful little neighborhood---I so wish I had that here in my own neighborhood. Daisyadair, Thank you, thank you! I spent many hours yesterday and the first half of today moving furniture trying to find just the right place for this table. Right now I have a wing chair and floor standing curio cab shoved in my kitchen (temporarily just so I can see what I can get rid of to fit this table) so that you can't get to the canned goods cupboards and you can only open the fridge side of my side x side. LOL I told hubby that it was that dang corner fireplace in the family room. If we could move that, I'd have the perfect place for the table. The total fear look on his face when I said it, Priceless!
