Can't offer much help, but I vaguely remember 'helping' long time ago to build a table with crossed legs: the angle for the legs was approx.38 degrees...I think you need to cut 2x4 approx. 39" long to get table height. Usually they are lap-jointed, but you can see in the photo that they are bolted. Maybe you can google some free plans? I would just fiddle with couple of 2x4 until I find proper angle for the width of top you plan on building, and the height you want. If you plan on siting this planter next to the wall, make sure it's not too wide, so whole planting area could be easily reached from 1 side. If 'free standing', you can make it wider since it could be accessed from 2 sides. Rina

Wow! I loved reading this, it is really like a fascinating book. I love this site, you can find ANYTHING! here. One observation I had in regards to the locket engravings. The letters G.F.A and F.C are in the same block style (font) and the T.F are in a totally different more romantic one. I would think that is to create a easily read visual of the "wording" on the back. The message seems to me to say G.F.A (a person) T.F (together forever) F.A (the other person) and the date of 1911 for a wedding. Are you certain Alice never married? You should look to see whether those initials match anyone else in your family. Just a thought, are you sure the soldier in the picture was really Aunt Alice's fiance? or could her story have gotten mixed up with someone elses. A story of a fiance killed in the war and a picture of a scotish soldier could have easily gotten assumed over the years. Also it is possible that the locket belonged first to Alice's mother and had her husbands pic in it (Alice's father) and that is her wearing it in the photo, because it was hers. And when she died, if that is Alice in the picture(as a child) she inherited the locket and added the picture of her deceased love and the date at a later time? Of course the locket could have belonged to someone else entirely and aunt Alices fiance placed into it by her when she wore it at a later time. Checking out those initials would be my first step. Finding out the dates of family weddings and who died before who would be my second. You said Alice had other sisters, could it be one of their wedding dates? did a sister die before Alice and that is how she inherited the locket? perhaps the other man in the locket is not a father since he seems too young for the age of the photo but a sister's husband (original owner of the locket)and Alice simply left the pic in there since his picture is the one that goes with the engraving and added her own dead love? To Identify the lockets original owner I would go with what I know and get the names of all parties to try to match up those initials with someone in the family. PLEASE keep us posted and good luck!

Mskitchen, I have a spreadsheet, too. I used the spreadsheet to make the maps of lighting on my floor plans (plus assistance from a lighting designer). I can't imagine having to go back a 2nd day to do more! Lzerarc, we're working with allowances for the fixtures. But the electrician went through the house before we got there and marked what was included in our contract for the wiring. And he was showing us where standard/code outlets were going in case we needed to add more. It was much easier to see it in real life than on paper. So we did have everything included in the bid as per code, basically. We did consider furniture placement (had that mapped out when we did the house plans!) and decorating. Kymike1, that's a good idea to have a switch for the overhead lights! However, in our bedrooms we'll have ceiling fans (with or without light kits) that have remote controls. We can then mount the remote in a cradle near the bed for both fan and light control! Chisue, we completely forgot pendants and electrical outlet discussions on our island. I think that was one of the last areas we were looking at and we were so hot and tired we were rushing. I've gone back to the builder and asked about both of those things. And yes, we have security lights and the electrician did suggest putting a light switch in our MBR, which we thought was a brilliant idea!! Thanks for the support, everyone. :)

Hi again, I did find the pics from folks 60th. Their ann. is in May & I got 4 in. pots of petunias that were in full bloom at our local Green Arrow nursery were they give "free" plant wrappers. I had put a lovely floral 9x12 placemat-paper in same pattern as napkins & set plant on it as centerpiece for each table & surrounded plant with 4 of the votive candles I had made. I sent plants & candles home with guests. We didn't light them-fire danger with little ones around. All of us kids provided the food (5 of us) & I made lemon tarts & pecan tarts along with bakery bought whipped cream icing cake (mom's favorite, custard & strawberries in center) I made up a memory board of sheet cake cardboard from cake supply store covered with 4 fancy white rectangluar? paper doilies & pics of what "additions" had happened since 50th. There were couple of births, weddings ,graduations. For 50th you could make 1 of reunions, swim party, trips they took, their kids, Xmas, whatever they have done past 50 yrs. I had about 15 pics on this 1 & on 50th about 25 as I had wallet of their wedding (eloped) things they liked to do, dad's plane, hunting, mom's sewing, crocheting, etc. Whatever pics you have! It makes nice conversation piece. I finished board off with Victorian cutouts & silk flowers. Very easy! Just used scotch tape so everything was removable & if pics came from someone else could return them. I took close up's of Memory boards so they could have pics for memory photo book!! Jan
