house. I already took one big box of stuff to Good Will.

The border was at the top and in the middle (where the switchplates are)
The border and all the glass were fighting each other.

now I need to find a new space for the bird cages.

Oh Joann - Please don't unclutter your living room with the stone fireiplace. It is one of the cosiest and prettiest rooms I've ever seen, and has been an inspiration for me for years.......

The inside of your home is like a fairy tale, along with the backyard...not sure if anyone's seen your backyard lately but it's a masterpiece!

I remember asking you a long time ago if you lived in the country and you said no. I've never seen the front of your house though so I can put it all in perspective. hint. :)

Oh, is it hard to learn how to do stained glass? You and your husband are so talented, I don't know if many here know you all made most of the things in your home.

Why would you want to move your beautiful bird cages? Don't you enjoy them every day as you are in the bresakfast nook or in the kitchen?
And I like the kitchen without the border- your cabinets and stained glass that you two made are exquisite and should be the stars!

I don't see that much clutter, but I do see those amazing cabinets and the warm wood, they have simple but classic lines; therefore the less items on top of them the better. That's just MO. I vote to let the bird cages stay as well.

Oakley, I guess I live in the country, as compared
to living in the city. I live in a wooded area in surburbia. I only have a couple of photos of our front yard
and can't find them, however, I'll look again later.

glass in 1995 and love doing it, and try and some stained glass in a lot of our woodworking.

Oh my, I just found this (taken from my kitchen window) as you can see, very plain and very little flowers, as compared to the back yard. :)
The blue glass thing on the left is a bird feeder.

Oh I think it really shows the glass and cabs to advantage. I love the new look and the door really blends in well now. The new cab will look great. Do you collect a lot of different oils/vinegars ? What are your favorites ?

trailrunner, I have two cabs that are about 9" deep
at the end of my cabinets...one has oils and vinegars
and the other has flours and sugar and rice.
I have olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, canola oil,
seseme oil, and some oils my son brings me back from
Italy. These are strictly storage cabs, the ones I use every day are next to the stove. When we make the new
cab, I'll move the oils and vinegars into it, then I'll be able to spread out my flour and sugar into
the old oil cab so that I'll have two cabs for the flour and sugar.
...crazy I know, but we both like to cook and make bread
so I need a lot of stuff handy, and that is a challenge
in a small kitchen.

Here is my stuffed pizza, sausage, spinach, mozzarello,
grading cheese and pepperoni.

Here it is, after rolling up... ready to pop in the oven, with a pizza and another stuffed pizza, I think the small one was fried eggplant with sauce and cheeses.

I remember your front yard and although there is not alot of blooms - everything is beautiful, green, LUSH. You need to post your blog (journal?) address again for the back with the water gardens.

I agree with taking down the border - looks great! With your lovely stained glass you don't need anything that takes away from that.

Borderless was definitely the way to go...looks wonderful, and I am glad you painted the kitchen door.
