Thinking of Getting a Zo Bread Machine/Questions...

I am really enjoying bread baking and an email I got from KA saying that there's no shipping charge on their Zojirushi breadmaker through 11/30 has got me thinking it would be THE Christmas gift for me this year.

I've searched previous posts and read a lot of great things about them, but I am wondering if anyone has used the Zo mini. It has an 8" x 11" footprint and makes 1 pound loaves.

It seems wasteful to preheat and utilize my whole oven to bake one loaf, and baking in the machine would certainly be preferable during the summer months.

Where it's mostly just me & DH through the work week, I'm thinking this size would be better. It has a carrying handle, and looks like it would be easy to transport from home to the lake house, where we usually spend weekends.

The difference in price is about $25 - so amortized over years of use, it's not significant in choosing the mini over the full size machine.

Do you think in the long run I would regret not being able to make 2 lb loaves or having a sourdough starter cycle and other bells & whistles offered in the regular sized machine?

I'd appreciate your thoughts.
