What is the date of this sale?? Thanks, Mariann

Bgol, There is a safety device in the connector just before the regulator. There is a small ball that will stop or restrict the flow from the tank to the regulator. It is designed to stop flow if the hose ruptures, etc. If the tank valve is opened too fast, you will send the little ball crashing into the end of the fitting nearest the regulator where it might stick and restrict the flow. While you are wating for a response from Grand Hall or a new regulator, you can try this. If you are mechanically inclined, unscrew the fitting from the regulator. Try to blow both forward and backward through the fitting. If you can't free the ball this way, tap the tank end of the fitting on a piece of wood. If that does not work, you can try to gently push the ball back with a small wire. Be careful not to damage the small spring in there. If you get to this point, you may get it working but should replace the regulator under waranty. If you get the ball unstuck, reattach everything. Use some sealer (teflon, etc from the hardware store) on the threads going into the regulator. Good luck, Bill

Sylvia has lot of good advice but mom & sis might not take to it as they are grieving also & especially mom. My mom never said anything to me & I helped care for dad the 2 yrs after his stroke. I was there every day. Mom immediately thought I should spend nights at her house- it was "all about mom" but when you are 90 it is mostly about them. They are trying to survive, losing strength, most of friends were already dead. So you need to ask mom if she wants to talk & then listen. She feels she has "no one" since you have a family. Do more with your children but include mom when you can. Check on her often, you are becoming the adult here & she the child, that is what old age does to you unless she is very young, if she were only in late 50's or 60's then you want to try to get her interested in club, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, church group, volunteering at hospital, school etc. She would be young enough to get value out of putting herself out in the community. Your 1st order of business is your own family your children feel your pain & hurt. Also keep in mind if mom never discussed her "business-personal or otherwise" with anyone, she isn't going to start now. Your bro & sis have lives of their own, what do you want from them, distance makes them also somewhat distance to you. You don't act same around them as you did when you were 15 do you? Everyone has moved on but with your loss of your dad you want things "to go back like they used to be" but time marches on & we can't do that. You would like to be a little girl again & daddy would make it OK. You don't mention a husband as they are often helpful in getting wives through this. Do go to your friends but also try to move on for your kids sakes, they need you more than ever as they know you are grieving. Hold them close do some fun silly things with them, isolation is indeed the enemy. Friends & kids will get you through. My hubby died young & I had little money so I got in car & drove 1 mile to shopping area & just watched people come & go to keep from going nuts at home. Time will help too but try to get closer to your mom but be aware that she might push you away. Or she will become clingy so don't go overboard "doing" for her. You can make it!

Martha, I enjoyed reading your blog about your cookbook club. Sounds like y'all have great fun and super road trips! (Click on photo to see full recipe) I made this recipe the month that we had a brunch theme. It is from the Birmingham Junior League Tables of Content cookbook. If you need a meat to pair with it, try Millionaire Bacon. I first ate Millionaire Bacon at Fred's Coffee Shop in Sausalito, CA. It was divine. I use the recipe below from BaconToday.com, except I cut back on the cayenne and black pepper. I probably only use 1/2 teaspoon of each. And, 5 Tablespoons of brown sugar will only cover a bit over a 1/2 lb of bacon for me. Millionaire Bacon 1 pound of thick-cut bacon 5 tbsp packed brown sugar 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper 1 tsp. Black Pepper Directions: Line a baking pan with foil. Combine all of your spices and sugar together into a bowl and mix thoroughly. If you want your bacon more coated in sweet and spicy flavor, add more ingredients to your liking. Apply liberally to each strip of bacon by taking each strip and hand rubbing them. Bake until crisp for 20- 30 minutes (depending upon your crispy liking). Please let your bacon cool a little after you’ve made this recipe. NOTE from bbstx: Keep a close eye on the bacon after about the 15 minute mark. The ends will burn. I sometimes cover the ends with strips of foil to prevent burning. Do not attempt to drain this bacon on paper towels. You will end up picking little pieces of paper off the very sticky bacon - or, if you're like me, you'll get frustrated and just eat the little giblets of paper!
