hi Starlinka, thanks for amazing pix of moulting starlings, but having looked on google...Cornell identification "All about birds" under brown headed cowbird, that is definitely what it was. It has now been gone nearly a week. I just don't know what it was doing here in the south of France, apart from there being a few sitings in UK. It would be useful to know where others on forum are in the world. Bye, Jacqui

That is a really great set up for them, cliff_and_joann. I'm glad that they have such a nice home, and envious about how nice you are able to keep it! My two cannot be free roaming while we are not home due to the damage they would cause but it is great that yours can be. I hope Cry Baby is feeling OK, but maybe she is just being a nesty little girl and guarding her home LOL. They are both very cute little birds. I love lovebirds especially. It seems like you did not take offense and I hope you didn't. I was not trying to call you out but rather do a PSA, I guess. To continue that, I want to point out that those cages are too small for birds that do not have free roam. They are absolutely gorgeous though. I can't show this to the boyfriend, he will say he is going to make some and I have too much else for him to do around the house :P Here are a couple of my two. Penny's wings have since grown in and she swoops around the house. Jack cannot fly because he chews his feathers and has since before I adopted him. He seems very interested in Penny flying though. I am hoping he will let them grow in soon and take a shot at it, it is so good for them.
