Not bad, I got 15 correct. I missed the PB&J gadget and I can't remember the other that I missed! That was fun. NancyLouise

Sooz, might want to consider adding a second choice for a veggie. I did some Googlin' & it looks like quite a few people dislike peas. They scored #14 on this list of "20 Most Foul Foods" from an AOL survey. I love some of these responses... "PEAS!!! When i was little my mother would count out a pre-agreed upon (after MUCH argument and bargaining on my part) number of peas and place them on a plate with a tooth pick -- at which point I would eat one single pea at a time with my toothpick, while I plugged my nose with all my might with my other hand. As soon as I could force that one little pea down I'd follow it IMMEDIATELY with at least half a glass of chocolate milk. This would go on for 20 peas or so -- usually resulting in me sitting all by myself at the dinner table (with my mother watching closely from the kitchen) while everyone else was excused from the table." -- Jenny Not a lot of surprises, to me, on the list except for #20...blueberries. Gosh, I didn't expect blueberries to be a most foul food. Here is a link that might be useful: 20 Most Foul Foods

We received this wine aerator as a gift. https://m.wine.com/product/vinturi-wine-aerator/120451?warehouses=CA&cid=GoogleBase_CSE_120451_Beta&gclid=CjwKEAjwlq24BRDMjdK7g8mD6BASJABBl8n310IPzm54CwZGYb5jIVpe2Mj-rkHdl7ntD2MlAdvEXRoC3Pnw_wcB&mode=xfercomplete Sometimes I have guests do blind tastings - (1) a glass straight from the bottle, (2) a glass poured through the aerator. They prefer (2) about 2/3 of the time. 1/3 of the time they can't tell the difference - but those guests might not be able to tell a California wine from a French wine, so we won't give their opinions too much weight. No one, so far, has preferred (1). If you decant into a carafe then the aerator is unnecessary. I picked this laser-sighted infrared thermometer up on a whim, because I was in Home Depot and it was only $16. http://m.homedepot.com/p/PRO-SERIES-Non-Contact-Infrared-Thermometer-with-Laser-Sighting-12-1-Spot-THERMNC/204262824 Along with enabling all sorts of geeky investigations - have you ever wondered how much hotter your ceiling is than your floor? do cats have the same internal temperature as humans? when your spouse is "steaming mad", is she really? - it has certain cooking uses. Measuring the temperature of a pan. Or of spitting oil that is too scary hot to dip your probe thermometer in. This one is as cheap as they come, and no doubt there are advantages to the expensive models, but save your money and get the wine aerator too. Differences in the emissivity of surfaces limits the accuracy of infrared temperature measurement anyway.

Well, I couldn't sleep. So I ended up here, taking a quiz. I got all 10 correct. Hold yer fahr. If it's any consolation, I misspelled a Spanish word in a quiz recently. If my (Spaniard) mother finds out, she'll disown me. Sol

Isn't Tofurky already cooked? I'd think it would have to be to be packaged and sold the way it is. If so, the lower for longer makes sense because the point is just to make the middle pleasantly warm. Is it supposed to get brown though? It might not at that temperature, since browning generally happens at 350° F. What you could do if it's looking a bit sad is raise the temperature after you take the turkey out to rest, brush the top of the tofurky with a little oil or soy sauce or something, and put it back in just long enough to brown. This is all off the cuff, though. I've done something similar with a meatloaf, but I've never seen a Tofurky out of the box. :) Very good of their customer service to get back to you so quickly! Good luck with it and Happy Thanksgiving!

The only one I missed was the ice cream scoop thing. Maybe I should take this as a sign that I'm spending too much time in the kitchen gadget section. Nah, that can't be it. Thanks for the diversion!

I did almost as well with the ones that didn't display the picture as I did with those that did. The wording of the questions helped, as did the selection of wrong answers offered. I saw 10 of the 17 pictures and got 12 of the answers right. (I'll admit that I do spend too much time looking at kitchen gadget catalogs.)

Well.... I FLUNK!!!!

But feeling so much better!!!

For a long while, that seemed to be all that I was shopping for, kitchen items. This prooved that as much as I love to cook, I'm not addicted to kitchen gadgets. Even though, I knew that this quiz was a marketing gimmick, I didn't feel like having to have any of those gadgets. YEAH!!!!
