Lazydaisy. the nest on the NU site is located to the best of my knowledge in British Columbia Canada. This nest is on private property and this pair has been nesting in this spot for a few years now. The owner of the property had to get permission to install the cameras because eagles are so protected they did not want to intefere with the mating/nesting/hatching/raising process of the eagles. The owner of the property had started this out on his own and had gotten such a large demande from the public to be able to view the eagles that he asked for assistance and Nothern Utilities stepped in to help out. The feed is live 24/7 and this nest has 3 eaglettes. I was only seeing one, but this morning I say the other one and he/she is much smaller than his/her brother or sister. I am happy to see that both has made it this far. Louise

I've had the cam running ever since I posted earlier this afternoon (although I had the monitor off and was away working in the yard, shopping and getting supper for several hours)... The eagle is currently off the nest and has been on and off several times, but when she's ON, she acts like she's roosting, and also fluffs and works on the nest, yet when she's OFF I can find NO EVIDENCE of any eggs or chicks... Anybody have any idea what's going on? Did chicks hatch and fledge, or die? Or has she not yet laid? Or what? It's a neat cam, but it'll be neater if there are some eggs or chicks to look at.

Did ya see 'em? Did ya see 'em??? Cute little osprey fluffballs! Very cool. The other day there was a decapitated fish sitting in the nest with them. Nice. ;)

Boy,am I relieved.This morning at 6:15,I saw Daddy at the box,thought he just might be feeding Mom.I didn't want to check that early in case Mom might be laying another egg.Just now when I came home,I decided to check the box.Dad was in a nearby tree and when I opened the box,there was Mom sitting there all crouched down,nice and cozy.she never even moved.Needless to say,I closed the box quickly and left her alone.I was very relieved and excited.I have no idea if there are more than 3 eggs or not,just happy they are ok.Also on the way back to the house,I walked by a box that has been mounted on the side of the garage for a few years and has always gone unoccupied.My husband mentioned the other day that he saw a bird sticking his head out ,but was unsure what it was.As I walked by,I gently tapped and out came a white breasted nuthatch.How exciting,that is a first for me.Very cool.This box is difficult to open,so I will just have to leave it alone and enjoy.Glad to share some good news.....Jane
