Eagle hit by plane. Eaglets rescued. Male eagle?

Those of you interested in the Eagle Cam may already know that the female eagle was killed Tuesday when she was hit by a plane, and the three baby eaglets were later removed from the nest and taken to a sanctuary to insure their survival.

Now I wonder about the male eagle. Do you think he is grieving? Imagine how he felt when his partner did not return home from hunting for food. Days later, he had to cope with their offspring being removed from the nest.

Do you think such creatures feel similarly to the way we do under such circumstances? Does he feel fearful, lonely, confused, as I think I would?

I feel so sad for him. I do think the babies will make it just fine, but I bet they miss their mom too.
