It's 5:00 o'clock somewhere on Thanksgiving Eve!

And I am toasting to all my CF friends. I don't know how much I will be checking in tomorrow and I wanted to let you know I treasure you all and there would be a huge void in my life without you.

Have a wonderful holiday whether it is with a table full of friends and family, a cozy dinner for two, a Hungry Man frozen dinner or somewhere in between. Don't worry about everything being perfect just remember to relax, enjoy the day and remember the people that can't be with friends and loved ones for whatever reason.

Hey Alex, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

We do our T-Day way back in October so I'm salivating at the thoughts of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy...the rest is all trimmings!

Have a good one all my CF pals......and remember it's really all about the leftovers! Not too many but just enough, delicate balance.... LOL!

Hey Sharon! I made my first deep-fried turkey on the Canadian Thanksgiving (with all the trimmings, remember?) - no reason you can't do a turkey breast or something with us!

Haven't had any hot cider in a while. Was going to try it with some apple brandy at Thanksgiving. Got the idea somewhere, but can't remember where. Sounded good anyway. Bottle of wine in the frig... sounds good. Bottle of champagne there too. Case of beer.... decisions, decisions! But I had a bunch of coffee this morning and about 6 glasses of iced tea for lunch. I'm pretty "fluid" for now! Back when I had the store, the last location was always pretty cold. The heat didn't keep up. So on really cold days I'd fill the carafe with apple cider and put it on the coffeemaker base and let it warm it up and we'd have a pot of hot cider to drink. Keep filling it and there's hot cider all day long! Delicious!

L.O.L. Aren't you darlin'? How about make all the numbers five? All the watches I use in switchplate covers and other projects are set at 5:00. Thanks for thinking of me, WACKY. I was done drinkin' by 5:00 last afternoon, and in bed b/f dark. Therefore I've been awake since 2:something, and finally gave up at 4:00 and got up.

Yes, lol, and a maid, LOL! After the Bistro and then Papashon, he returned to being his own boss catering. Half Moon Bay "Red Ginger" (exceptionally beautiful space still available if you're interested) chef was a favorite and last I heard, he is now a private chef for a movie mogul traveling the world. Devils Slide closing Hwy 1 destroyed the perfection they had created, Huge loss for us, I still cry, but hope he's happier than ever. Crab Landing just opened with a two story view of Pillar Point Princeton in the Harbor Village Mall. I'm most eager to dine there, I'm hearing good reports so far. www.Oceanohalfmoonbay.com have a delightful chef in their lounge. Nothing quite like upscale room service, lol. Most people have no idea how hard the work is behind the scenes. Thank you so much for La Tienda, one taste of the white anchovies and I was addicted. Do you serve them? I first tried them showcased as a salad and I'm so glad I did! Haven't been in your neck of the woods for a long time and would love to stop down to explore next trip to Indiana.

So many 'we used too's on this thread... When my kids were little, we used to go to my in-laws for Christmas Eve. That was the day my ex-husband's family had always celebrated Christmas. We had a big family dinner (traditional with all the trimmings), opened gifs, and then went to midnight services. Most years, we also went to my ex's grandmas house for a short visit. There was always a big family celebration (with all the aunts/uncles/cousins) going on there too. Christmas Day morning was our own little family celebration... we'd get the kids up, exchange gifts, eat breakfast. Christmas Day (after breakfast) was with my family. Another big family gathering. Dinner (mid-day), clean up, gift opening. And our own special Christmas tradition was the night of the 23rd of December - the day before Christmas Eve. Scheduled then because I didn't want my kids to confuse the real meaning of Christmas with all of the commercialism that was to follow. We baked a birthday cake for baby Jesus. We'd set up a nativity on the kitchen table and would have a birthday party and sing happy birthday to Jesus. Sometimes we'd invite special friends to share the occasion with us, but usually it was special family time. We started this when the kids were tiny and continued well into adulthood (until we were scattered and no longer within easy driving distance). Now we go with the flow. Sometimes someone in one of our (Gary's or my) families have dinner Christmas Eve. One year, my oldest step-daughter did, but I was at work so couldn't attend. She cooked Chinese dinner and Gary and Emi brought a plate home to me. Other times, we're on the road, traveling. Still others, it's just us at home. I love Christmas, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.. but I do miss those big family celebrations when the kids were little. My parents and the kids' dad's parents are all gone now, for several years. The big family gatherings in my family are a thing of the past, except for our 'sister's summer campout'. And, of course, I'm not part of the kid's dad's family get togethers any more. Gary's family doesn't get together as a big group (there are 10 kids in his family). So, it's just our immediate families (us and our kids). We do love Christmas and take turns celebrating Christmas Day one year with Gary's kids, the next year with mine. We celebrate with the opposite family usually somewhere between Christmas day and New Year's day (because there's travel of several hours involvedf).

Good point!!! I do happen yo have a small turkey in the freezer and a 5 pound bag of potatoes, and a butternut squash, and some broccoli , cheddar for a cheeses sauce, and some spanikpoita in the freezer.... just have to figure out stuffing .

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. We'll all probably be so busy cooking and eating and visiting and cleaning up and eating some more that it'll be tomorrow night before we know how Thanksgiving went, LOL.

THANKSGIVING TO ALL!! I was thinking earlier today that we should have the turkey tonight and have those wonderful leftovers and sandwiches tomorrow with our feet up, watching the games! I love my friends and family and consider ourselves extremely fortunate today. I find myself being more compassionate and giving on a local scale and would do more if we could to provide shelter and food and clothing for those that need our help. Best wishes to all of you with loved ones overseas in the military. Good health and good cookin!

I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and my CF friends, those I have met and those I haven't, have been such a big part of my life this year.

So wherever you are and whomever you are with, I wish you all the Happiest of Thanksgivings.

I too would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I feel very fortunate to have a great family, some really wonderful friends from the CF, a fridge full of good food to cook and then eat. And then leftovers for Black Friday.
