I got the job!

I got the job I interviewed for last week!! I will be working 19 hours a week as a para for special needs kids at

an elementary school. Today I am going to get my TB test and on Friday go and get the test checked. On Monday I have to call a lady to get processed. The interview turned into a small world. The principal who interviewed me is from the same town my mom lives in and knows many of my cousins. She was cousins with my scrapbooking friend who passed away several years ago. I need to give my friend a big hug who helped me get this job.

Thanks. Both jobs had their advantages. The other job paid a little more an hour and because it was located in a large city there were more opprotunities for my DH to find something. The job I took is in a smaller city but I know DH will find something so we can carpool. I really didn't have a #1 choice. I am just grateful to have a full time job. TOld the pastor this morning and he was okay with me leaving. He was happy for me because he knows how hard it is to find work. He was also grateful that I will help until they hire someone. I sub in that roll sometimes for our school district. It can be a challenging job and a rewarding job too..

What wonderful news! I'm so very happy for you!

Your 'small world' reminds me of this one ... when DH was interviewing for his first civilian job after retiring from the Army, (30 years ago) the potential boss asked about his service record. Turned out they had both served under the same Major at different points in their careers ... AND ... both had the same opinion of him! It wasn't a good one! LOL!

Common bonds are wonderful introductory points when strangers meet. I'm glad you were able to find common bonds with the principal who interviewed & hired you.

I just know you're going to do a terrific job, Jewels.
