You might want to try the soft cup. I am full size and love them! No "headlights" show and through, LOL. I love they make me look.

What makes me crazy is that I can't find bras WITHOUT the underwire - I don't have enough to 'lift', so don't need the wires.

I buy Bali bras they have a large assortment of everything.
They wash and wear well also.

I just take the underwire out. I don't like them either.

It's very hard to find Minimizers now all stores used to carry them

op have you tried meijers (i found one for radiation, no metal there) or kmart? or do you have an outlet mall? often the vasserett or jms stores have a good selection...

i'm still reeling from the pricey men's wash and wear dress slacks at kohls today...i've never paid $45 for a pair EVER in dh's size...

I actually like them because they give me nice shape, and I don't mind a bit if nipple camauflage, if I say so myself ROFL.

I am also an underwire fan.

If I don't poke, prod, and pad these babies into submission, who knows what might happen!

The padding also helps conceal the fact that I use my bra as a "cargo hold". Spare change, shopping list, iTouch, you name it.

I'll vouch for Bali bras also. They fit well and last a long time. They never get raggedy in the wash.

As I've gotten older I've taken to wearing sports bras for everyday wear. Total comfort.

Another vote for Bali. I started wearing Bali bras when I was fourteen because they were the only brand that would support me in my equestrian shows. Picture the girls trying to keep to the beat of the horse going up and down.. fast... ouch. I also can't stand that most bras you find now-a-days have extra padding.

I never understood the point of underwires. The wire sits in the crease under the breasts. There is nothing to support there. The support comes from the cups.

I wear Bali too. Soft cup, no wires,triple hook back for a smooth line.

I always call those thick padded bras bulletproof because they look like they would deflect a projectile.

I like bras that are mostly cotton. I don't mind underwires--in fact, I prefer them, but most bras are nylon or polyester and I hate that.

Jenson 13, on the inside of the cup at one end,I just cut a tiny slit and push the wire out.

The day is coming -- actually is past -- when I should go out and buy new bras. I have five Vanity Fair underwires that are at LEAST seven years old. They look like (heck), but they're still holding together.

I don't WANT extra padding, but that's all I see in stores. I'm 5' 6", 115 pounds, narrow shoulders, no back, and a 36-D -- with the bra strap 'notches' in my shoulders to prove it. 'Minimizers' make me look *weird*. I don't want 'lift', just stabilization. ('Lift' makes me remind people of the front of 1950's Cadillacs.)

I really just want some new VF bras like the ones I have, but of course they don't MAKE those anymore. Grrrr.

They may have been telling the truth. Department stores often rent their real estate to vendors in a partnership arrangement. The vendors are responsible for displays and stocking. The store has no say in what or how they display and sometimes it is even staffed by their own employees who receive training directly from the manufacturer regarding the product.

Some stores like Victoria Secret are owned by large corporations and what and how everything is displayed is decided by corporate entities in a boardroom. The store manager's hands are tied.

dilly dally, yes I found this out shopping at our Belk store. They have coupons off and senior days, Was buying clothes for my daughter and they would not accept the coupons telling me the distributor of certain lines were not a Belk associate, they were a vendor. That was news to me, Have shopped that department store for years and had it had never crossed my mind that they had vendors responsible for some of the merchandise.

Yet another Bali fan here. I dragged my two best friends bra shopping with me a couple of weeks ago. I've lost about 60 pounds and REALLY needed some new bras. We found the perfect one - a Bali that was a 2 for 1 sale. Made me a happy camper.

Speaking of underwires, have you ever had one poke through and stab/pinch your boob? It happened to me at work, and I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head, because it happened so suddenly and abruptly. OUCH! Won't forget that any time soon.

Is it time to tell my stroke story?

We were out to dinner. Suddenly I felt odd, like one side of my body was lopsided. I also had an intense pain in the ribs and got short of breath. I am not kidding you that I thought I might be having a stroke, it was that crazy. I quickly excused myself to go to the ladies room.

The underwire on ONE side of my bra had SNAPPED! Just like that! I have NEVER had that happen before. Escape in the wash, maybe. But never just snap, while I was wearing it especially.

With no way to fix it, and not being in the right company to just go back out that way, I took the bra off and tossed it in the garbage can. That same dinner my pantyhose decided to call a mutiny on me and those got tossed too.

Imagine being the person to clean THAT garbage can! I wonder if my dinner company ever noticed.

I used to wear Bali...but then when I needed one cup size larger (after boys) that put me in the "plus" size section and the wires are HUGE..wider than necessary and I was always getting poked in the arm pit.

I have shrunk since that issue a touch..band size, not cup size..and now prefer a few that Walmart carries...Sweet Nothings and I just picked up a Playtex in the "new" see in packaging..and it seems to be pretty good...although it's a soft cotton like a tshirt..so no nippy help..

I do have a few "Foamy" ones from the Avenue that are to big around but do give great shape and protection in a fitted tshirt.

Oh and just cuz I have a DD requirement...I DO NOT want to MINIMIZE them...so I avoid anything that says that on the label..

Like the Balis with the underwire. Don't like any padding.
