Separating doesn't affect the flavor, just looks, and it can be prevented by using flour, cornstarch or arrowroot in sauces. Yogurt (or kefir) can be substituted for sour cream in nearly any recipe, in my experience. I don't know if I've ever tried returning a fresh (refrigerated) food item. Canned goods, dry goods, no problem but I can see that a store would not be allowed to take back produce, and anything that requires refrigeration even if still sealed. Didn't think of that, but how do they know it was kept refrigerated while you had it? Good point. Guess this means I'm stuck with the $25 ham I bought especially for my mom, even if she tells me she would have been fine with a ham steak while the rest of us eat the hickory-smoked ham I have in the freezer. The dip I mentioned above is really good with pita chips. I cut up some semi stale pitas, spray-butter them and sprinkle on garlic powder and parmesan cheese or sesame seeds and broil until golden. This is good too: 2 T evoo, divided 2 carrots, shredded 2 large garlic cloves, minced 1/3 c. mint leaves, thinly julienned, plus more for garnish 2 c. Greek yogurt 2 to 3T lemon juice, to taste Heat 1T of the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the carrots and saut� until soft, about 10 minutes. Turn the heat to low, add a bit more oil and add the garlic, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Fold in the mint and remove from heat immediately. Put the yogurt in a bowl and add the carrot mixture, a pinch of salt, the lemon juice and about 1 tblsp. of oil. Taste and adjust seasonings. Chill for at least 30 minutes, sprinkle with additional mint and serve.

I Googled this topic a little over a week ago and there is a list of different places that took polls - like Better Homes and Gardens and several other polls. Fage got the best results on most polls. Since i can't drive any longer I have to wait for my DD to bring some home to me. So far she has only gone to Wal-Mart and they only had Dannon's Oikos. She got me Blueberry, Strawberry and Vanilla and I liked all of them! It's not chalky or too tart as some of the tasters said of different brands. One of the Wal-mart stores had a 4 pack of Wal-Mart brand but she was afraid to buy it. Now that I know someone likes it I'll try it. We have 2 Wal-Mart stores close to us. The closest one has Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt but the other one just has regular Yoplait. Dr. Oz talked about Greek Yogurt a couple weeks ago and said we should eat one before every meal. Very healthy and it fills you up [so you can't eat much else I would say.] LOL That's a good thing. I've already lost almost 5 lbs.
