YES!!! My favorite used to be Fage, with Chobani coming in second. But now, amazing as it sounds, my #1 Greek yogurt is Great Value by Walmart. I posted here about it not too long ago.

It's almost as thick as Fage--more like Chobani, I guess--but less tart. I never thought of Fage/Chobani as being tart, but the Walmart brand is milder somehow. It's really delicious. And considerably less expensive than Fage/Chobani.

I buy the plain nonfat variety in quarts. They also have 6-oz. containers with fruit on the bottom in 4-packs. I've tried these, and they're also very good. Because I have to watch sugar/carbs, when I buy these I eat the yogurt off the top and toss the fruit left behind. The yogurt tastes fruity and sweet to me.

The brand NOT to buy? Cabot. Loving New England as I do, I was shocked at how bad this yogurt was.

Greek yogurt, BTW, has less water/whey than regular yogurt. Therefore, it's thicker, milder, and contains a lot more protein and a few more calories. That's the only difference.

I like CABOT, but I think it may only be regional,... northeast.

I eat the Fage 0% every day. It is expensive, but I'm hooked. I often mix in fruit--blueberries, bananas, etc.

Siggis. I also don't like the sugar. This one's Icelandic. I love it!!! Only 100 calories too.

I like Oikos toasted coconut.

Fage. I get a large container every week and use it in lots of things.

Well, I do have a Oikos carton that I have not opened yet so glad to know some of you like it. Next time I go to Walmart I will try their brand. This will be quite a change from the sweet peach flavored Dannon I am sure.

Oh crap! Robert came home from the store today with a big carton of Cabot, not the Fage. I'm almost certain that I've had Cabot before and didn't like it....but I'll keep an open mind when I try it tonight. :-)

Love Fage. I don't like Chobani. I can buy the larger size of Fage for the same price as the ones that have honey or strawberry or whatever in them. I add my own honey. I love it.

I eat Greek Gods brand.

the best dessert? fresh sliced pears with a dollop of the yogurt and a drizzle of honey....

i vary between brands...will look for the wal mart next time i'm there....

Chobani. I've tried other brands but keep coming back to this one. Black cherry is my favorite, peach is next.

Yes!!!! I absolutely love love love Dannon Light N Fit Greek Yogurt. It is only 80 calories and has 15 Grams of Protein. I eat it every day of the world. My favorite is plain Vanilla and I always add a sliced banana or chopped up apple to it. It's delicious plain but I love the added fruit. They have several flavors also, Blueberry, Cherry, Raspberry, Peach, Pineapple, Strawberry... that might be it. When you open up the fruit ones, they look like plain vanilla on the top, the fruit is all at the bottom. It has been a part of my lunch meal for almost the past year, and sometimes also as a snack. I have lost 47 pounds since last April.

I Googled this topic a little over a week ago and there is a list of different places that took polls - like Better Homes and Gardens and several other polls. Fage got the best results on most polls.

Since i can't drive any longer I have to wait for my DD to bring some home to me. So far she has only gone to Wal-Mart and they only had Dannon's Oikos. She got me Blueberry, Strawberry and Vanilla and I liked all of them! It's not chalky or too tart as some of the tasters said of different brands. One of the Wal-mart stores had a 4 pack of Wal-Mart brand but she was afraid to buy it. Now that I know someone likes it I'll try it. We have 2 Wal-Mart stores close to us. The closest one has Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt but the other one just has regular Yoplait.

Dr. Oz talked about Greek Yogurt a couple weeks ago and said we should eat one before every meal. Very healthy and it fills you up [so you can't eat much else I would say.] LOL That's a good thing. I've already lost almost 5 lbs.

I like Fage 0% plain nonfat. I put a packet of sugar in it, and it's enough for me.

Surprised to hear about the Wal-Mart brand. I may have to give it a try.

I've had a chance to use the Cabot that my husband brought home. It's horrible to my tastebuds.....horrible. :-( I don't even like it in my daily green sludgies!

Got any suggestions as to how I can use it? Perhaps in a heavily seasoned recipe? I won't throw it away, but won't be able to use it in my usual ways.

You can bake with it, Rhizo. Use it as is if the recipe calls for yogurt, or thin it down with a little milk and use it in place of buttermilk.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who considers Cabot yogurt to be vile. :-)

I have been buying the Cabot's for some time now. Maybe its just that I expect yogurt to be vile, so I'm happy with the Cabot yogurt :-) However I only buy the lowfat plain yogurt, and mostly I use it for cooking (mix with spices and slather on chicken and bake) or as a condiment (mix with major grey chutney and serve with indian food) or as an ingredient in my Cold Cucumber Yogurt Soup.

It would never occur to me to just eat the yogurt.

Well, Bob, if you ever make the leap to actually eating the yogurt, I strongly suggest you try another brand. LOL

That is so funny, bob. Fage greek yogurt is so creamy and mild that it's better than sour cream on a baked potato. Not a bit of sourness.

I love the Cabot Greek yogurt. Tastes great to me. The vanilla is like dessert. The plain is a great substitute for sour cream. I actually think I prefer it. I just wish I could get it in a smaller size. The quart is way too big and that's all my stores carry.
