Your could even do a really pretty Valentines table with these dishes by highlighting the red from the bow in your tablescape (simple candlesticks with red candles with some thin ribbon in complementary colors tied below, red cloth napkins with a natural twig wreath style of napkin ring, well, I would tend to add lots more to the tablescape, but that is because I am a more is more/overkill type of person, but I will stop here for the more clean-lined folks).LOL Same thing goes for a more Winter/fall/Spring look, just bring out from the dishes about what the season at that time represents ie: in a tablespace (bird/nature theme) you could have some lovely bird figureines (not cutesy, but realistic birds) placed throughout the centerpiece display, throw down some pieces of silk or real greenery in the centerpiece with some rustic or not so rustic candlesticks and you would get a great look with that too. Great dishes, I am jealous :)

I know these colors very well! (Finally, I can contribute.) I have Desert Tan in my house (great room and foyer - open floor plan) and I really love it. We started with BM Cork and it was too much for us as well. I agree with the earlier post (ourhome2007), it's a strong color and I was looking for something more soothing. I have pics of both colors and I can share them with you (even the Cork before it got repainted), but first I need to learn how to upload photos to this site. (So happy to be contributing! I'd been a lurker till now!) Let dig up those directions and I will post.

Anyway, I don't know if that one number being off can really make that much difference, but I'm thinking it did. Yes, it can. That's why I'm always preaching that the typical paint/color consumer has no business getting involved with the formulas and colorant listings on the label. This is why "cutting" formulas by a percentage is a ridiculous concept - it sounds so precise, but there's nothing precise about it. And altho people speak to having successfully "cut" formulas, it's intangible, unspecific, and not applicable information beyond their own experience with their specific can(s) of color. Whenever you cross brands, take a chip from one brand and have it matched somewhere else, it's not going to be exactly, perfectly, literally just like the original brew from the original brand. Some colors could qualify as a "spot-on match" and others maybe not so much - this also depends on who ya ask if it's a "match" or not. Some people can see sense "what's off" about a color that's been matched in another brand and other people don't see any difference at all - looks the same to them. Color acuity and tolerances are not one-size-fits-all. If it doesn't take much to satisfy your expectations for wall colors, then that's awesome. If you're a little more picky and color sensitive, then that's awesome too. There's no need to reach for or settle for whatever color is most convenient and easy. You might just have to take a lil more time and work a lil harder but most things worth doing requires effort.

I tried to post a picture, but am having trouble with a few things. First of all, my photo skills are lacking and the true colors of the current wall color and the sample of Wheeling Neutral are just not showing up they way they appear IRL. The current wall color is much more yellow. In my picture, the two colors look quite similar, when they really aren't at all. The other problem is the size of the picture. I inserted the picture by dragging and dropping from my pictures library and the picture is huge. Do I need to resize before I insert a photo? This is my first attempt at including a photo since the change over to Houzz. Then, of course, there's that whole thing with my photos becoming 'property' of Houzz. I have been comparing my samples of Lenox Tan and Wheeling Neutral and I think I've figured out what didn't work with the Lenox Tan in our BR with the bedding I'm going to use. Altho I do like the richness of LT, the color needs to be grayer and I think I've achieved that with the WN. Could I go darker? I suppose the answer would be yes, but then the color is just about matching the grayed brown in the pillow sham and that's not necessarily my goal. The colors should just blend, right? I want a nice background color that works with the overall color scheme.
