Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige

Has anyone used Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige? Have pictures maybe? I am searching for my living room color and am having the hardest time. I thought that BM Crown Point Sand was going to do it for me, but I got the large sample home and decided that it was too dark and too green (and too similar to my sofa color). I am now looking at the Shaker Beige. I've painted a square with sample paint on one wall and will live with it for a few days and look at it in the various light, but it's still so confusing! I really want a clean, taupe-y, sandy, beige-y modern color that will look clean and crisp with white trim. I'm a fan of Benjamin Moore so am looking mostly in their colors (although the paint store says they can match any sample color and can also dilute color if the sample is too saturated). I'm just finding this the hardest, most agonizing decision to make! Making the decision on what house to buy was easier than this!

Any recommendations would be welcome.

If you live on the West Coast Dunn Edwards has a paint color called "Golden Gate" which I find simply beautiful at all times of the day and evening. It is either a beige-tan color with a golden color... very neutral but with a hint of more color. I painted my whole house (open floor plan) and painted all trim white. I did go 50% lighter in the hallway which tends to be dark and I am happy with the finished look. My furniture is mostly dark woods, sage and rust red colors.

Good luck, I know the process you are going through... I went through $200 in sample bottles from BM!! I finally took my hair dresser's advice on Golden Gate, something she saw in a model home recently and swore to me it would be perfect. Of course, bought a sample, painted, and it was love at first sight! Good luck~

I painted a very large living room & dining room with BM Shaker Beige and I'm very happy with it. I spent a long time looking for a beige that didn't have alot of pink in it, but was not too yellow either. I used it with BM Navajo White trim, its a nice combo. I will try to post some pictures soon.

If it were me, i would probably paint the walls a neutral color like Funcolors suggested. Another good one is SW accessible Beige or Crewel Tan. To me, its easier to paint walls than trim thought it will take far more paint. As for the exterior, a few strategically placed pots of colorful flowers or inexpensive flowerbeds and mulch can really liven up the outdoors for minimal cost. I bought my house with it painted one color throughout. It was SW Sensational Sand and i have tan carpet. Its not my favorite color and ive changed some rooms but it made the house seems spacious and it was workable with my furniture. Id rather have a blank canvas than a house full of crazy colors anyday.

Shaker is lighter than Brandon. Look at the LRV - light reflectance values. Shaker is about 56 and Brandon is 38. The higher the LRV number, the lighter the color. Not a huge difference. If you haven't already painted samples, that might be a good way to help you decide which one you like better.

Sherwin Williams kilim beige or Benjamin Moore Manchester tan?

I would get samples. Sometimes people have reported Kilim to have band aid look. Kilim has a slight green undertone compared to my BM Shaker Beige walls (they have a red undertone). If you start comparing paint chips with other chips you'll be able to see undertones. I have another room painted Manchester Tan and it's a very nice color. A little lighter than Kilim and has a subtle green undertone, but I honestly had a hard time even seeing it until I tried to determine what it was. If you're unsure, and looking to stay away from fleshy colors, I'd pick Manchester for sure. It is slightly putty looking and a little cooler, but no flesh tones. I can take photos later if you'd like. Photos of Manchester Tan from Adventures in decorating blog look pretty accurate to real life on my monitor. Looking for the 'right' beige

I have Carrington Beige in two rooms in my house - one has a lot of natural light and the other does not. It looks good (and different) in both. No red or pink undertones in either. Carrington Beige, Shaker Beige and Bleeker Beige (another popular choice) are all historical colors and I think they're all available in the 2-ounce sample size, so you can try them in your light without it costing too much.

Have you looked at Alphano Beige? It is a medium to light taupe. We are doing living room, two hallways and bedroom in it. It tends to be cooler than the yellow beiges.
