Question about Twitter...thanks cjd63

cjd63 just posted a Twitter question for Casey. That reminded me that I have wanted to ask a question of my own re: Twitter. How many of you Twitter? I registered a few months ago, I follow a few friends and a few shows but I don't get much out of it. I don't know that I *get it* or, if I am just not that interested in it?

So, what do you think? How many of you use Twitter and, do you get anything out of it? Do you Twitter with family, friends? Do you like it?

I'm not sure I get it either sooey. I'll keep checking it out for a bit, but we shall see what we shall see. Are you the sooey in Washington, DC?

Hi cjd63...There is a sooey in D.C.? Oh My... I am on Cape Cod. Are you in D.C?

When I first registered with Twitter I thought I would get a Twit alert or some other indication that someone had added an update. But am I right, I need to hit refresh in order to get updates? I get Facebook and I like it. But I have not warmed up to Twitter, as yet

My big news is, I have a s**tload of worms. At least I think I do! I took sjensen2533's advice and checked on Kijiji for someone giving away aged horse manure. Tried to research to see if it would contain red wigglers given that Nova Scotia tends to have a hard winter, but when I couldn't find the answer decided I'd go give it a try anyway. My first shovelful of aged horse manure showed me that they certainly do survive our winters, at least covered in horse poop they do. Got about 40 lbs of manure, and we will see how many worms I harvest from it. The best thing is I get to spread everything else on my garden. Yay! I had a good day today, got myself some worms and some horse manure for nothing! Thanks everyone. Jane

My sister was a nurse in Saudia Arabia for 8 years or so. She went back to high school in her 40's, then to college to become a nurse, worked for a few years at Detroit Receiving Hospital and then off to Saudi Arabia where she worked at King Faisal Specialist Hospital. She only came back to Canada because the insurgents started to target the compounds where the foreigners lived. She really loved working and living there. Go for it, if only for the experience of doing some different. I wish I was that brave to leave and start over somewhere new. Good Luck Anne

No problems with my Kindle. But this same problem has occured in the past....sounds exactly like something many of us suffered through a couple of years ago. It did turn out to be an issue with the ad itself. Clearly, it's difficult to keep up with all of the glitches that pop up on a big and complex website such as this. The best thing we can do to resolve such an issue is to bring it to the attention of the administrators right away. Contrary to what some believe, these websites are not monitored on a regular basis......GardenWeb is self-policed. Do not hesitate to report a problem like this, or spamming, bullying, proselytizing, etc. immediately. If 'they ' see something as a real problem, they will do something about it. However, if the ads that appear on the top or right of the screen offend or annoy you, then a free site might not be for you. I ignore them completely, but appreciate that some just cannot do that. I sure hope that this problem is resolved for Casey and others soon.

I'm going to leave Evernote alone. I know I never had a account there. Why bother. I have no trouble getting on twitter. There are many posts on Twitter with recipes and I do save some to my Iphone (notes). Wondering if that is risky? Never thought about it before and have been doing that on both Twitter and Facebook. Thinking that saving links from those two places, on my phone could carry risk. I'm sort of at a loss how the phone works as I don't have any protection on it. Not sure if there is anything available for phones. Thanks, Jane

Oh, and as for refreshing to update, I don't follow twitter on the web. There are lots of applications you can install that follow it for you and you will get a beep when someone posts. I am using TweetDeck but I used to use Twirl. Just google and you'll find them.

Thanks Karen, I guess I missed that post. It looks like I'm not alone in my questions. I'll try to put some time into it, but if I don't have enough time to keep up with posts here at KT, how will I keep up with Twitter? Silly me...

I was just wondering abut this so many news programs refer to their twitter links I don't know if I'm just stubborn or not interested now I'll look at the link you posted thanks
