I couldn't ask for a sweeter, more loving MIL. Last Thursday was my longest chemo day and I "looked forward" to it being long and boring. To my surprise, Dotmom stopped by for a visit and brought the most beautiful bouquet from the downtown flower shop. Pretty shades of yellow and blue just made for springtime. It was a nice bright spot of my Day! Love you Dotmom!

When you're 80 in Ontario, your licence expires, and you need to get a release from an instructor who spends about an hour and a half showing a video and giving instructions, plus discussion, then giving a test of 20 (40?) multiple-choice questions, and 20 (40?) highway sign illustrations that one must identify, then s/he marks each of about 15 participants' tests, and tells some that they need to take a driving test, as well. That release, plus some dollars, gets you a driver's licence that lasts for 2 years, then one needs to go through the same procedure again. They recommend that one study the "Driver's Handbook", a smallish tome, that one can buy from the Ministry of Transport for about $15.00 (plus tax) ... ... or borrow from the library ... for free. Actually ... I'd like to recommend to a number of drivers around me nearly daily on the road that they read it carefully, as well ... as if that would have an effect on their driving habits. ole joyfuelled ... with some help from orange juice, milk and coffee for me - and gas for the car

Minnie, I really hope Max doesn't leave the show too. I watch it, mainly for him! LOL dotmom, I agree 100 % about Derek's behavior. BTW, Mark Ballas was in town the other day. He sang with his two other bandmates. I sure was not impressed at all.

I hope Caitlin will have a job that can afford to send the amount of money she expects to everyone who sends her a graduation invite/announcement. Many would have to forego a mortgage payment if they sent a minimum of $100+ to all the graduates of friends and family, It's a gift not an obligation or entitlement. When I graduated, I never expected any gift. My parents threw a party to celebrate, it was just a reason to get together and have party. I was happy with cards, flowers, words of wisdom, I didn't expect anything and any monetary amount was greatly appreciated and thanked for personally with thank you notes. I don't care if it's a phone call. Email, text, in person, or card. Just acknowledge the giver - they are under no obligation to get you anything.

Usually the dial-up's slowness is tolerable, especially when it costs me $13 a month for 50 hrs. That is so nice, friend Cynic, but don't you still have a furbaby? I realized, last night that I better replace the carrier I lent out, post haste, whe bad weather roll over us and the sirens went off. Soon the local police and a couple firemen were knocking on Apt doors saying we were under a tornado watch, and we had to go into the center hall, which we did but I didn't have anything to put Buster in and he is too big and strong for me to hold him. So when we got the all clear, I started researching for a new carrier. Even when the fire alarm goes off in the building occasionally, the first thing I would do is put him in his carrier...just in case. So far they all have been false alarms, but It is unthinkable for me to leave him behind in case of an emergency. We lost two kitties in a fire we had in 1990, because I couldn't find them and the firemen made me leave the place. That still haunts me.

Awwwww, I'm getting weepy. What a mushy love-fest we are having. LOL But let me tell all, it is the most sincere feeling of love and thankfulness for this best of all DDILs any one could ask for and yes Radio Dokkktor is a lucky guy. Love you honey. Dottie

My mother in law was a good one too...I wish we still had her.

That was so nice. I am glad someone else feels this way about their m.i.l. This is how I feel about mine.
