55 alive classes

Monica pa post about No Left Turns, made me think about this, and instead of hi=jacking her post, (which was an excellent post) which some do, by starting their own two-way conversations, on a totally different subject than the original post...........

I take the 55 alive driving refresher courses every so often, to get a discount on my auto insurance. There have been only two things I felt I have learned, that is any use is, always drive with my head lights on......much easier for others to see my car. Plus, try to plan a trip so I have to take as few left turns as possible. One class, I asked the instructor about my having to drive on a two lane, curvy and hilly road, occasionally. I have cruise control and always go the speed limit, 55, and there always seems to be some lead foot driving too close behind me. Even some passing where is is way too dangerous to do so. He said I should speed up. BS! why in the heck post a speed limit if they don't mean it? When filling out the comment card that came with the pamphlet, saying I was disappointed that AAA encouraged people to speed. Anyways, have any of you seniors taken these classes and did you feel like you learned something from them?
